Jupiter's lost stripe
http://www.ksee24.com/news/local/93611629.html?hpt=T2 I'd love to see some people's input as to what affect this might have in EP. Any theory, regardless of scientific basis, is welcome. Was just thinking it could make for a fun story element.

In reality, I doubt it matters much. Yet another big weather phenomenon on Jupiter, at most something for the skywatchers of the jovian moons. But if it is a layer of high clouds obscuring the belt, then that might provide a good cover for doing stuff in the atmosphere. Imagine the Jovian Junta discreetly setting up large aerostats in the somewhat manageable atmosphere under the clouds to run a project they really want to surprise the rest of the solar system with.

Where else would they keep their super secret recovered ETI spaceship that they found in one of the lower cloud layers?

"Sir, are you sure this weather is... normal?" "Yes, we have seen it before. It has *nothing* to do with that we lifted the alien ship up to the aerostat level. That thing is inert and cannot affect weather on a planetary scale without us noticing. Now go and inspect the moorings while I eat these rusty nails."
