A couple questions on combat equipment
Ok, up to now my players weren't interested in combat, but we got a new player who is going to be the muscle of the group for those chances in which such a thing is needed. And he came up with a couple questions for which there is no content in the book, but should/may be possible to include in the game. Yet, before saying yes to him, I thought I'd ask you all what you think about it, and then decide. First, the game offers the chance of having a laser gun implanted in your arm. My player, though, would like to have a one-shot squirt one. Would it be possible physically (I imagine a squirt gun is bigger)? Too overpowered? Second, there is no option for covering your gun with a chamaleon cover, thus making it invisible. So if you are invisible in any way you are, your guns will be visible (unless they are under the cloak). He'd like to modify his weapon for it, should I allow it? I feel it can be terribly powerful, but can't actually come up with a reason for this to be impossible. Finally, the grip pads implant requieres knees, foot, etc to be uncovered in order to be used. So he would like to make a modification to his armor akin to the gecko gloves so that his armor would have gecko gloves/boots/knee pads... and so be able to use it fully and without penalizers. Sounds reasonable to me, but maybe the extra weight of the full heavy combat armor is too much for what a gecko glove can hold. What do you think? Thanks in advance, guys.:)

The biggest issue with an arm-mounted weapon is the potential to be conspicuous. An implanted laser is fairly fine, as most of it's components can be internalized and the battery can be stored deep within the body. Any gun that requires ammunition, however, needs some sort of external feed through which ammunition could be fed. That might nake it more of a problem for hiding purposes. Remember the legal issues that exist for various things. With stealthing a gun, all you really need is to buy an extra chameleon cover to wrap your gun in. Modern special forces do this with ghillie suits to make their weapons hard to see, and that should be just as possible now (more so even, since ghillie suits don't hold a candle to the potential that chameleon cloaks have). I wouldn't recommend an invisibility cloak, though. They become easier to spot when there are any openings, and kinda block your own ability to see or fire. Lastly, gecko pads work because your skin is soft enough to conform to the shape of the wall you are trying to climb. Hard armor simply isn't flexible enough, and clothes are generally too loose to use as a climbing device. I would say, however, that special gloves, soft-soled shoes, and knee/elbow pads can be purchased with gecko grip material on them.

If it's a squirt gun, it'd probably be able to feed off of poison glands.

Problem is that you're limited to the production speed of the poison glands, and restricted to contact toxins. Poison glands can't produce DMSO.
