Eclipse Phase Character Portfolio
Hey all, been lurking for awhile, but thought I'd share this. This is version 2 of my personal portfolio for EP. Version 1 is similar (With room for 3 morphs) but seemed rather cramped so I took some of it out. Let me know what you think. If you can think of anything else to add, feel free to ask me. Both are available here http://black-ocean.org/

Re: Eclipse Phase Character Portfolio v 2
A bit plain, but honestly I like how clean and organized it is. Despite all the data, it doesn't look all that busy or cluttered. Very nice. I did notice the ver. 1 Active Skills list is missing a SAV entry under Networking, which causes the rest of the skills to be misaligned (Palming is INT instead of COO, Perception is SAV instead of INT, etc.). Still, nice job.

I fixed the skills in version two, working on doing the same in version one. I'll repost it when finished. I could fancy it up a bit, but part of the task was creating something printer friendly. thanks for your input! EDIT: Fixed both sheets (Found a couple of other errors in the skills lists) and re-up'ed to my domain.

Hello InsidiousAlgorythm, The sheet is good. Very clean and has style. I found page 2 to be not very suitable for pen and paper playing, since the boxes are too small to be of practicall use. In EP we have almost all of the boxes populated.

I'm actually in the middle of version 3, fixing box widths so you folks can write in them =) My handwriting is incredibly small and neat (Architecture/Drafting will do that to you) and I didn't take that into account. I'll post back here when I finish it. Maybe tonight.

Thank you very much for the character sheets! I look forward to further refinements. I tried to mimic it with my own, but mixing well-sized boxes with the tremendous amount of information that can be tracked took up 6 pages of legal-sized paper.

Re: Eclipse Phase Character Portfolio
The new version is wonderful. The skill boxes are wonderful too! :) Clean and has style, though I would add some sci-fi elements on the borders. Now, some positive critics, suggestions or whatever is the English word for this :) 1. I would also mark the TOTAL column with fill, due to the fact that players are always checking against the total, instead of the morph. 2. I still think there are a lot of white space on the sheet and between boxes, and I think it would be awesome if you add little text how each of the stats and attributes are formed - formulas and etc. Would be nice for novice players and dudes like me that don't play only one system and tend to forget how each is formed. :) Keep the good work. I am now using this as my main sheet during play.

Awesome, I'm glad you like it. Great idea on the Total fill, I completely agree. So both columns are shaded now (Updated and ready)

Re: Eclipse Phase Character Portfolio
The updated version is great, and I did a testplay with it. I have only two minor suggestions: 1. On the page 1, where the primary attribute boxes are, you can mark the first row as Base (whic means that those values are provided by EGO), the second Morph (those values are added by the current morph) and Total. This is sublte change but it will indicate at glance for what are all those boxes. 2. On the page 3, you can show how the LUC, TT and IR are formed for both the muse and the ghostrider. To be honest, the sheet is great, I like when you have tons of info and also hits on the gameplay mechanics. Since the sheet is now very practical, I think you should add some awesome fonts to it and re-arrange the cells to limit the white space on the page. I don't know what software you are using, but the Adobe suite I have on my desktop at home has some awesome non-serif fonts. You can download some free fonts from the internet as well. I think that you should pick something different than the standard Eclipse Phase phont family, just to differentiate from the mainstream. PS: This is my main sheet now. I know that 5 pages might be too much for some conservative RPG players, but in EP case - there are TONS of information you might need. Why to flip the book? :)

Re: Eclipse Phase Character Portfolio
Thanks for the comments! I'm in the process of "fixing" it up a bit, planning on adding the EP logo in place of the standard lettering. Your first two comments are easy enough to do while I'm working on it. As far as fonts go I've got thousands! to choose from, but for the most part I think I want to stick with what I have, with the exception of headers. I use Quark 8 for my layout. Not a huge fan of Indesign personally.

Re: Eclipse Phase Character Portfolio
Great stuff! Just a nit-picky design issue, but several of the boxes seem to have text touching either the left side or top of their boundary box's border. I'm wondering if this is intentional or if maybe the font was not embedded correctly in your pdf?

Re: Eclipse Phase Character Portfolio
Nice work on this sheet. I like that you've left space for custom reps. One thing that might be valuable would be a couple more rep total boxes for each category, and to have a 'Mesh ID' header with blank lines over each one for people to pencil in the specific ID each column is associated with -- since each Mesh ID is going to accumulate its own @rep, this would make it very easy for people to keep track of which of their identities has what rep level. There's plenty of extra space to the left of the current total box, so should be fairly easy to fit in a couple if you decide it's worth adding. Likewise on the headers.

Re: Eclipse Phase Character Portfolio
Not a bad idea. I will work on that. Also, as I posted in the goon sheet topic, I'm going to whip up a set for those GMs that do laptop gaming, it will be different of course, maybe more pages, but I plan on using a landscape format for ease of reading on screen.

Re: Eclipse Phase Character Portfolio
Hi Insidious Can I use this portfolio in a convention event in May 1, 2011? Do you have characters fitting this portfolio? I am looking for worthy player-characters that I can use at the event for the session's players. I probably won't have time to create character material. Thanks! ken

Re: Eclipse Phase Character Portfolio
Hi Ken! thanks for asking, but you can do whatever you want with my portfolio, as long as it follows the CC license (The same as EPs books) I'd be honored. I don't think it's final yet though, still taking suggestions on polishing it up. As for characters, you might want to take a look around the forums, I've seen a few floating around, maybe we could start a topic too. I believe that a couple of fan sites (The Eye?) may have a few too. I plan on making a few for my group, but I only have my players characters so far.

Awesome Stuff!
These sheets are really helpful and just what I need for introducing a new group to Eclipse Phase. This is the sort of thing that helps me stay organized and not off-topic, and they look great! As others have said, nice and clean.
