2nd Physics: Does this exist yet?
root@2ndPhysics [hr] I was wondering if anyone has any idea of there is such a thing as an open source physics-based simulspace? I'm not so much looking for a physics engine, but a 2nd Life style simulspace that has an open source physics underpinning it? If not, does anyone know a community that might be willing to put some effort into starting one?

I don't think it's exactly what you're looking for but you might be interested anyway. The thing is called MineCraft http://minecraft.net/ It's... ehm... a game where you constuct various items... and dig holes... and whack exploding zombies in the head... and build incredible environment with your own hands, along with other players. It's got quite advenced physics - and all in all is amazingly ingenious piece of code. It's really hard to describe properly - to get the idea check BFF Report on YouTube http://www.youtube.com/user/wowfony#p/u/13/E4f2sNkDi7w

root@2nd Physics [hr] Thank you Marek, that is a pretty good example of what I am looking for. I would call that a physics system based on a cubic crystal programmatical object. Basically every element is made of a cubic crystal, and crystals follow a programmed chemistry in that they follow certain rules when applied to each other in certain combinations and geometry. The code behind that must be really elegant. Marek r-rep++d
