1) The data will populate once you enter a number into the Max Aptitude. I did that to force users to remember to cap their aptitudes. If I didn't add something about this in the HELP tab, I'll put something there.
2) Sorry. There isn't. I left out costs because it's possible to get traits free. I could include a worksheet with the standard costs for traits and other tables if there's demand for it.
Oh one more thing about 1). When you say select a morph, the data you're talking about are the numbers in the aptitude cells, yes? I can't auto-populate the morph aptitudes because they (almost?) always give the player a +5 in an aptitude of their choice.
In cases like Incompetent or Black Mark, there is no way to lower your rating, as the form will not accept negative values in certain fields. (or at least, I'm too dense to see how)
The work-around is simply to unprotect the sheet.
Bug or feature; you decide.
Also, sadly, the fields ALL show up as protected in Open Office, and nothing can be edited.
Ego Traits and Hardening sections could both be larger. With +/- 50 points of traits, that could be 10 lines, easily. Granted you probably won't be hardened to more than 9 things, but your list of stressful experiences with 1 or 2 occurrences is probably generally quite long. I understand there is a limit to space on the page, but there could be an auxiliary sheet that tracks the math for your traits, etc without eating up more space on the main page.
Really, really nice work here. Amazing sheet, and tremendously helpful.
I used data validation to allow values of a certain range. I didn't allow negative numbers. I'll change that in the next version. Sorry, you guys are sort of my guinea pigs. I need real world testing so work out the kinks. :)
--------------------------------
I have a caveat about Open Office in the readme. Can Open Office unlock the sheets? If not, I can upload an unlocked version.
--------------------------------
I wish I could've given more space to the ego traits. I wanted everything ego-related to be on 1 sheet and 5 measly lines were all I could afford. :( When I first started, there was a lot less info and 3 pages. It's gotten larger and larger...
I made this for our playtest group to use and it's now morphed into a project for the EP community. I'm happy to take input and work with everyone to have a good character sheet/generator. Can't promise to include every suggestion.
No apologies necessary. We're glad to be your guinea pigs in exchange for you doing all the hard work. :-)
-----------------------------------
Open Office can unlock the sheet, VERY easily. Tools --->Protect Document--->Uncheck Sheet. No password required, apparently.
Investigating a little more, if I re-protect the sheet in Open Office I can assign a new password, which will then be required to unprotect, but it seems to remove the original MS password automatically. Huh, that doesn't seem right.
Anyway, it's not really a problem, I just wanted you (and anyone without MS) to be aware of it. As it is, the protection is all-or-nothing, either completely unusable or completely unprotected, which makes the sheet a bit fragile for Open Office users.
-------------------------------------
Well, that's why I was suggesting a second sheet to handle overflow, that way it won't effect the fit on the page for people who only have a few entries, but it would allow more room for more complicated characters. As it is, for my sample character I ended up entering all my traits on just two lines, one for positive and one for negative, and entered all the details in a very, very long description, so it's workable.
Thanks for all your trouble in making the character generator and sharing it with the rest of us!
I'm using Open Office and it doesn't work as it should. You (Tony) mentioned that an unlocked version will be made available, should the need arise.
It has :)
Or at least I don't know how to unlock the .xls.
EDIT- Sorry for the inconvenience it seems to work now. All I needed to do was to unlock each leaflet separately.
Version 2 finally available.
I've corrected all the bugs that have been brought to my attention thus far and credited people who pointed them out in the changelog.
Please download the new sheet here:

and let me know there are any other issues.
Thanks!

hi there.
there is a an option to "unlock" the spreadsheet. i don't have open office, so i'm not sure how it's done. other people who use it have no problem unlocking it. When i search i google, i find people talking about file > edit options. Try there.
Please let me know if you can't find it. I know people who use open office and they may be able to tell me where the option is.

1. Traits section doesn't have enough space for a range of positive and negative traits, if you focus on ego or morph traits
2. Active Field and Knowledge Skills could stand to be larger sections
3. Exceptional Aptitude is not supported
4. Moxie background benefit is not supported

I have NeoOffice for OSX (an OpenOffice build): Tools --->Protect Document--->Uncheck Sheet works fine. You have to do this on each sheet. Once it gets going that sheet is handy.
Version 3 has just been posted.
http://www.djarcanus.com/ep/
There are a number of major changes.
Number of ego/morph traits have been expanded. Same withe field skills/knowledges.
Many boxes have been moved around to different sheets and should make more sense.
Exceptional Aptitude works. For ego, the max number has been increased to 40. The morph equivalent is now calculated on the morph page and the ego page looks at these numbers.
Fixed selecting weapons and their DV bonus. Fixed font sizing to be consistent.
Rolled in changes from Errata 1.0.
Please the changelog tab for the full list of changes/fixes/additions.

I sent you a personal message, but I didn't hear back.
1-3 have been fixed in version 03 (just posted).
Please tell me what you mean by #4. If you're referring to Fall Evacuee and Re-instantiated, those backgrounds are taken into consideration. Look at the calculator when adding moxie. These 2 backgrounds allow more moxie before points start coming off.
If it's something else, please let me know.

Sooooper old thread resurrection, but in the README sheet in the doc there is "If you want to unlock the worksheets, the password is: "AGIsRuleEarth" without the quotes. If you unlock it, use at your own risk. Have an original copy as backup!
"
1) the Morph page doesn't seem to populate with data at all once you select a morph, and thus doesn't propagate through to the Ego page.
2) Is there anyway to incorporate a lookup for Positive/Negative trait costs?
