Taking It With You - Is data you own 'casted along with your Ego?
Transhuman's guide to optimal characters mentions how weapon blueprints stay with the ego through egocasting, but I've seen no explicit mention of this in the core or any splat. Have I missed a small paragraph covering whether or not the contents of your mesh inserts are 'casted along with your ego? I assume they are considering your muse travels with you, but that might be a special case given it's your lifelong pal who's fun to be with.

As I understand it, anything
As I understand it, anything that can be transferred is. Blueprints are, after all, no different than any other knowledge someone may have, especially with the line between brain and harddrive non-existant in a lot of cases. I feel the only reason you need to leave so much behind is because it CAN'T be transferred as data. So anything you can take is sent.

It depends on who's doing the ego-casting and why. If you're someone's prisoner, for example, they're not going to send the contents of your mesh inserts, probably because you erased them before they got the chance. Or, if they do, they're not going to be reuniting you with that data. Likewise, during the Fall, I imagine that some places were trimming out every extraneous bit of data they could, either to save on bandwidth or reduce the possibility of Exsurgent virus spread or both, whilst other would have let you take the contents of your inserts with you. But in general, you're going to be able to take any data with you that you want to take. Of course, a lot of places may be scanning the contents of your mesh inserts, and may demand that you either decrypt any encrypted files you have with you, or accept that they'll be deleted, or both, or just summarily delete any encrypted data. After all, that encrypted data might be encrypted viruses, Exsurgent or otherwise; it could be hacking software; it could also be illegal data, such as cracked/open sourced nanofactoring blueprints in places that like intellectual property. Other places aren't going to give one flying fuck what kind of data you bring with you.

I don't know if it's explicitly stated anywhere, but rather it's a logical assumption based on the nature of farcasting and data storage. All data is either carried with you in mesh inserts, or you access local copies on the mesh probably via some service. Data storage is limitless in all mechanical terms except for running active Egos. Everything else is an extrapolation based on other elements of the setting. A good question, for example, is, do you "own" data? Alternatively, short answer is that it says in Transhuman, when it says explicitly what was previously implied, that you can transfer blueprints when you Egocast. If it's not contradicted anywhere else, why doubt the factual accuracy of the latest publication?

Neat, thanks. This means my infomorph security consultant can take everything he owns with him when he egocasts, and simply make new meatspace things after he arrives.
