Gatecrashing says that the sciurid, the xenofauna that Scurrier pods are based off of, are native to a planet called Haplopelma but all I can find about the planet is a two-sentence blurb on page 74 that says it's a terrestrial world accessible through the Martian gate and the Iktomi visited it at some point.
Anyone know anything else about it?

I don't think there is anything else to find.
I did find that there was a brief write up on the sciurid xenofauna on p. 172 of gatecrashing. Its more than 2 sentences. It describes behavior and diet of the critters. Unfortunately its not much to work with.

Ctrl+f ed through X-Risks also (since that has sciurid stats), no additional info in the book, other than apparently it has a link to Solemn somebody else was trying to use. So I think it's one of those open, vague options. Go nuts.
Haplopelma is a genus of Asian Tarantula, btw.
