Sandstorm in financial trouble? still EP's publisher?
Other on the Cthulhutech forums the wildifre team have said sandstorm is issues and has not been publishing Cthulhutech stuff which has been done for months, additional sandstorm have also apparently downsized staff (again according to a few other there at wildfire) I would like to know how this impacts Eclipse Phase one of my favourite games pretty much ever, I assume the pdf part of things won't change but the actualy "publishing" of books very well will. Powers of Eclipse Phase that be? Can you tell us what is your current siituation with this? (at least as far as I know sandstorm is still your publisher) will it cause (like with wildfire) a slipping of releaeas?

Yes, I noticed rumours of Sandstorm problems as well. Didn't want to bring this up, until more official information is published. But since somebody started this, I too would like to know if EP is safe and will releases will be published.

and by the looks of things with this Qoute from Mike V "sandstorm shennigans" have caused the cthulhutech line to pretty much stop dead in its tracks. Several items coming out (the mini game, the completion of the game plot books) their new game The Void have all either been put on indefinite hiatus or delayed until 2012. :( I am guessing that such "sandstorm shennigans" are also going to hit Eclipse Phase...my two favourite games >< ./noooooooooooo

I think Posthuman Studios is a bit more independent than Wildfire.

I apologize in advance for not being more forthcoming with information but we are aware of the situation and are in the process of working on a statement to explain the current status of Posthuman. However we can't say much as of right now since this is still a developing situation and we don't want to make a definite statement until we have all of our ducks in a row.

Darn it, just when it looked like direct ordering of hardcovers might be approaching.

You can order our stuff directly through Indie Press Revolution -- http://www.eclipsephase.com/eclipse-phase-now-available-through-indie-pr... -- no changes to our deal with them. :)

So people will still be able to get a copy of the third printing when it is released through IPR?

How is EP state currently. Are you still planning to make new products (Rimward?) From my understanding you are more independent than Wildfire correct?

Re: Sandstorm in financial trouble? still EP's publisher?
I am not with Posthuman, in any way or form, but from following their twitter and whatnot; Panopticon and the Third Printing are at the printers, I believe the plan is for them to be ready for Gencon. Rimward is being written/has been written, has some art orders out (Rob said that the cover art came in like, yesterday). There are plans for a Players Manual type book after Rimward, but we haven't really heard all that much about it. What I am more curious about is the relative lack of e-products lately. I seem to remember last year that the general plan was 8 a year? I think we have had 2 so far this year? EDIT: I also think that Posthumans printing situation is seperate from Sandstorm, isn't it? I think Sunward was sent to printers before joining up with them, but after the split from CGL.

Maybe Panopticon and Rimward are taking up attention?

When we have announcements to make, we will make them. Just chill. Things are moving forwards, things are in good shape, but as always -- we talk about them when we have solid things to say. Spending your time speculating is, almost always, a complete waste of time. :)

Last year EP released a bunch of adventures after playtesting them at GenCon. If you search the Events list for GenCon for this year, there's four(?) new adventures listed as events again, so I would reasonably expect that they will be playtested there and released after.

Re: Sandstorm in financial trouble? still EP's publisher?
I can at least, partially, address the e-release issue. Yes the original plan was to release many more than we have so far but while we have several written and potentially 'ready' (like the rest of last year's Gencon adventures and some other things) we tend to hit a snag with the in house 'final stages' of production. We tend to handle the final stages of production, final editing, proofing, layout and the pdf production side of things all internally. That means there is only 3 of us (Adam, Rob and myself) to handle these tasks as well as the print products AND the day to day operations of Posthuman. Additionally even though they are 'just pdfs' we want to put the same level of care and quality into these products. What has ended up happening is that the print products take precedence over the pdf stuff, and the day to day operations takes precedence over everything, print or pdf. So that means the pdf stuff has gotten the short end of the stick as we've been dealing with other issues that are more important to keeping the company running. It is our hope that as we continue to grow as a company and build up our finances we'll be able to settle into a more consistent production schedule and not have to spend as much time running around putting out stupid fires. Hopefully this clears things up a bit. I feel like I'm making excuses but, on the other hand I feel like most people would rather see us as a long-lived and productive company that produces quality stuff than just dumping half-finished product out there to make some arbitrary deadline.

Don't get me wrong, I am not complaining or anything, I just found it more interesting than a discussion on whether or not the books are OK :P Adam can only layout so many products at a time, after all.

Of course. I am glad to know, looking at yours and Adam's post that my favourite RPG line at the moment is not in threat of disappearing :) Good luck to you and I am looking forward to seeing more excellent products like the ones you already issued.

Re: Sandstorm in financial trouble? still EP's publisher?
Ah, developer comments and updates. This is the sort of thing that makes me respect a company, independent of whether or not they put out a product of absolutely awesome quality. Posthuman seems to fulfill both criteria, so ...
