I don't know if anyone else has had the thought, myself I decided when Eclipse Phase came out to torture the players to get the real feel. They started playing Eclipse with the line "then you wake up", since then it has happened more than once. Each Time the world is different someway, somehow. Currently they are in a recycled Dragonlance game which is to depict the fall in a nice Basilisk Hack, twisted way. What has actually been done to the players is augmented reality messing with them all this time. It didn't matter if it was twilight 2000, Shadowrun, Car Wars, etc. they have been under the influence of the Titans, or Prometheus, or even ET. Game wise they will be the first to become level 3 psi' sand the players don't even know what's happened. If successful after all this time that they survive they get to step into reality and find what will be the true alien world to them. The only difficulty had been is keeping the tech right and keeping on track of the real and how it interacts with these game modules.
