Rant and Rave Thread
Part of our new community building mission is finding ways for fans of Eclipse Phase to engage with each other. I'm stealing this concept from another forum whose theme is the community that they have built for themselves so I know it works. A Rant and Rave thread is a venting about real life thread. Not quite a bragging thread but a snapshot of a person's ups and downs during the day. A post will look like: [b]RANT:[/b] Gamed last night and forgot my dice bag across town. [b]RAVE:[/b] Played Atomic Robo last nigh. What a sexy game. The above of course was fake. I haven't cheated on Eclipse Phase in years... The content of the Rant/Rave is up to you but each post should be about you. Meaning don't reply to someone else's Rant/Rave take it to PM if you want to express concern, to offer help or to pester people for details.

Real R/R this time

RAVE: So many wonderful ideas from Zone Stalkers. RANT: Unfortunately it seems that Swing/Graveyard shift working weekends is perhaps not the easiest schedule to plan a game around.

Too much work for a weekend
[b]RANT:[/b] My gaming club had to move across town this weekend and we had way too much stuff (and then there was cleaning as well). Also, my friend was too tired/unfocused to end the weekend with roleplaying our solo campaign so after all that work I didn't even get any roleplaying done! [b]RAVE:[/b] During the move I could grab a Blood Bowl team that someone had left behind so now I can facemelt my frfiend's Undead team with my Mighty Orcs.

[b]RAVE:[/b] I watched Ender's Game tonight to get me into a sci-fi mode for allt he Eclipse Phase I will (hopefully) be playing the upcoming week. Very cool visual effects. [b]RANT:[/b]: It was a bit dissapointing compared to the book.

Another one bites the dust
RANT: Decided I was going to edit/format Ancient History's Farcast year blog into a more user-friendly document. My first import from his current PDF dump into MS Word was 700+ pages. RAVE: Finished it. [url=https://www.dropbox.com/s/z9tr11dj0wn0jz9/Farcast%20Yearblog%202013.pdf]... is the PDF.[/url] It is 380ish pages with a cover and TOC and stuff.

You know what's a real pain? I love martial arts and am completely willing to dedicate myself to a school, but none exist within my living area! (At least none that can be reached within a practical regular time frame.) Don't even get me started on finding a good sword instructor! Okay, I'm done.

Rant: I hate the standard practice of 'Release the dead-tree copy first, then the PDF later'. I mean, I get why they do it. I just don't like it. Rave: I live with a lake outside my apartment, and every day, I see a new animal out there, it seems. Just this morning, some big white duck is hanging around bossing around the mallards. It's quite delightful

RANT: Gencon is over! I didn't get to hang out with half the people I wanted to, but half the games I wanted to, or play half the games I wanted to! I had a GM no-show, I had a company not honor my generic tickets at a big event, I didn't get the signatures I wanted for my wife's birthday present, and my feet hurt! RAVE: Gencon is over. I'm home in one piece, I did get to hang out with some of the people I wanted to, I picked up two new systems, I got my wife a cool Dresden Files bracelet she loved, and I got to sling dice in three new games (including EP, which I've been wanting to try for years)...and sore feet'll heal. ;)

More Rant than Rave
Rant(s): bureaucracy can't seem to decide if I get food-assistance or not, as I've been getting multiple contradictory notices. Last counselor appointment canceled due to unending snow. Significant other won't stop noisily slurping snot out of their nose and eating it. Losing access to a vehicle in about 6 weeks. Social/political/religious views have alienated all but 2 members of my family, my dad and my grandmother. Still waiting to get in front of a judge (with my lawyer) for my SSI case, and it's been something like 8 months since appealing. Haven't had a chance to play a tabletop game for years, or GM for months. Rave: With practice, I'm finally starting to be able to form mental imagery.
