Missing morphs are a great
Missing morphs are a great hook. If you personalise them or use as a plot hook.
Players egocasts but they rent their morph instead of putting it on ice. A great start of find a morph scenario.
You can make it into a part of backstory or a sidequest or really just random chance for a player to get new morph at a discount.
It goes to my "If I ever run Eclipse Phase folder".

I doubt the interested ego
I doubt the interested ego will confess (or lie about) that morph having been "on Earth", since the current owner could sell that ego to a collector (if certifiable) for a very hefty sum... or inflate the price.
Appealing to other sentimental stuff would be much better, though.
