If we're just tossing out ideas... An Open Source Muse appears on the market that's incredibly well-designed. The pre-sapient AI is incredibly efficient and communes with all other Muses of its type, allowing very rapid sharing of information. It comes to Firewall's attention when it becomes readily apparent that these Muses are operating as a group-mind, developing sapience from non-sapient components. The hive mind is normally small enough to be meager in its capacity, but the program was just released on Extropia, and it has the potential to become a seed AI... A group of Ultimates decide to have a laugh and unleash malware that rewrites all translation software to only translate into their own hyper-efficient and precise linguistic system. It becomes a problem when someone else takes their malware and rewrites it to affect other systems, however, and people start finding that everything from vehicles to their Muses to ego bridges start to respond only in this unusual language. Biological malware becomes a popular pass-time in underground genegineer circuits on Mars. It becomes a game to see how many people can be inconvenienced (but not overly harmed) by the latest pathogenic bioplague. These range from turning people all kinds of colours, to inducing uncontrollable flatulence, to unwanted physical responses (nervous tics, arousal, increased baseline aggression, etc.).
