Rail gun ammo
I'll keep this brief. Why can't a rail gun fire hollow points? From what I read about them both it doesn't seem like anything should keep them from being used together. Is there something I missed?

Re: Rail gun ammo
Of, for that matter, any of the other ammo types. I suppose that could be because the electromagnetic firing mechanism effectively destroys any electronics embedded in the ammo, but them again we're told in multiple places that electronics are mainly optical in EP, and aren't effected by electromagnetics. I think the 'game balance' rule is clearly because railguns have better range and do more damage, so if they also had access to special ammo then nobody would bother using conventional firearms at all. Personally, I think the Seekers totally kick ass !

Re: Rail gun ammo
All ammo types to a railgun becomes "vanilla", their effects dwarfed by their kinetic energy.

Railguns imparts enough kinetic energy into the bullets that they essentially become high explosives regardless of what they are made of (yes, ice bullets are almost as deadly as lithium or lead bullets at this speed). http://www.eclipsephase.com/space-naval-combat-segway-antimatter-thread?...
