Whoever does those clips knows his work. For those with a bit lore of Alien universe-David 8's were stated to be recalled in original movies due to their unstable emotional reactions. I hope we will see him go mad in the movie.

Well, he did it in a beautifully understated way. The next time you talk about meeting your maker with an android, be more empathic.

I was rather disappointed in this movie in every aspect EXCEPT for David (and graphics, of course). The first hour I was thinking 'oh come on, my EP party would be CREAMED by now if they did this ...'

Yes, I was disappointed with the film, despite knowing that the "settings" track record has plummeted in its intelligence. So far I only liked alien1&2 +Predator 1 and none of their film sequels. In this Prometheus film I felt that most of the characters had a idiot ball glued to their head.

Same here. *Everybody* in our gaming group has better security precautions than this supposedly professional expedition. Still, loads of nice imagery to steal. And I liked the idea of the humans completely failing to figure out the motivations of the Engineers.

It was pretty sad how things were handled in this. Plus I was left with a lot of questions. Like how David was able to sneak that... um, "thing" (to avoid spoilers) on-board without some biological sensor going off, or at least a weight sensor or someone noticing that he's carrying more than he left with. Then there's the fact that the geologist that was in charge of the mapping process was one of the first guys to get lost in the cave. Are you kidding me?! But I did like it. And I did like how they tied it to the Aliens franchise (though if this movie is canon, then Aliens vs Predators can't be). I'm hoping they do a follow-up movie that focuses on Shaw's search for answers.

Because David, via his employer, basically 'owns' the ship.

Because he was high.

Even so, quarantine procedure for returning to the ship would likely require that everyone be check for foreign bodies. "I own this ship" is no excuse for potentially risking the lives of every man and woman aboard, by any sensible protocols.

I don't think there's a breed of weed that could get you that high. Especially when the discovery of that body totally blew his buzz. He should have immediately sobered and figured out exactly where he needed to go… or he (or the other guy) should have radioed in for navigation to the entrance. And I haven't even brought up the critically idiotic biologist that apparently doesn't give a crap about the potential lethality of random alien organisms he spots. Even a high-school dropout that has a mediocre grasp of the birds and the bees could probably figure out not to go near an alien organism without some basic safety equipment.

Hey, don't doubt Hollywood's ability to screw things up. They've perfected that art over nearly a century.

Re: Prometheus Viral clip
As an added insult both the mapping geologist & critically idiotic biologist, in the alien ship first seemed like the two genre savvy avoiding danger people. It gave the impression that the film cut crucial scenes for there erratic behaviour Here are some plot fixes that might have worked ,a scene where the geologist states to his friend that the coast is clear for them to look for gold while maintaining the guise of getting lost. Here is a spoiler David could (even unintended) have said "we are here to kill you" to the newly awoken engineer, cue deadly respons. However that would sort of sabotage the entire plot of the movie. I found this deep analysis of the movie. It reveals another layer of the plot & makes sense of it. But I still dislike the movie. http://cavalorn.livejournal.com/584135.html I think one key faults of Hollywood Movie makers, is that they are not spending enough resources to craft a good plot/story; in comparison to how much they spend into actors, promotions & special effects.

Re: Prometheus Viral clip
That clip was what made me watch Prometheus because it felt like a call back to the 'Voight-Kampff' test scene in Ridley Scott's original movie masterpiece 'Blade Runner'. Obviously I was disappointed by the way Prometheus turned out, but I felt that Fassbender's 'David' was extraordinary. Aside from the piss-poor planning that the Weyland corporation took, the fact that the medical bay surgery pod *only* catered to male patients, and Charlize Thereon's inability to RUN LEFT, that movie could have been alright.
