Project Ozma campaign?
I can't shake the feeling that while EP is an excellent game, there is a bit too much focus on playing as part of Firewall. Having read the Gamemaster information in EP, Sunward and Gatecrashing, I am starting to believe that further details on Project Ozma and its activity, membership and assets would be quite interesting. This organisation is certainly very interesting to think of as potential for alternative campaign for players. Instead of starting as Firewall agents, players would start as higher ranking citizens of Planetary Consortium involved in official business and then due to circumstances offered recruitment into Project Ozma or erasure of their egos. Since Ozma is more hierarchic and structured, it fits well with an rpg gaming session and progress of characters. The only trouble is that they there is very little information on Project Ozma-hopefully this will change in the future. Has anybody else thought of this ?

Re: Project Ozma campaign?
Fantastic idea, one that I've experimented with briefly to great success. Ozma is, literally, outside of the law. They have tremendous access. However, they also likely rely on extremely compartmentalized groups. An agent may never know who he is working for, or what purpose his work serves. I think your tie-in is great. The guys are doing whatever, maybe some sort of specialized work, maybe they have rank. Last memory is getting backed up, like normal. Then they wake up in an interrogation room. The Ozma agent tells them their backup has been pulled. The original fork is still active, completely unaware. The PCs will not be missed, have no rights, and are an embarrassment to the original (as they are forks). They can work with Ozma, or be deactivated. They will never clearly work against their originals, but they may be recorded giving certain messages. They're most set on missions with very limited (or false) information provided, but awesome equipment. Ozma does a lot of crazy stuff, and unlike Firewall, they don't mind standing close to the flame. Firewall will act to destroy the TITAN. Ozma will try to download a copy first. Definitely could be a 'higher level', darker, more dangerous story line. Just to shake things up, I would say characters are either deactivated when not in use, or regularly brought back from backup with no explanation.
