"The Prefect"

"The prefect" by Alistair Reynolds is a wonderful hard SF transhumanist novel that should entertain and inspire all EP players. If you haven't got it yet, please do so ASAP.

I read it when it came out a couple years back. While I admit his writing is getting better, it's still a bit dry compared to his contemporaries. All his characters seem to sound the same in my head. That said, The Prefect does offer some useful insight on how an Anarchist / Autonomist society would function. Also interesting bits about Reputation economies.

Try reading "Haze" by L.E. Modesitt Jr. for a good SF society.
