Personal Project: Eclipse Phase Setting Homebrew
I have my eyes on making a forum dedicated to playing EP, in a sense some kind of living campaign using my homebrews of the setting. I'm posting these here cos I'm not really bent on making this an individual effort. My real intention here is to just give the game a platform for play-by-post gaming in a sort of living campaign environment. I mean sure, I'd love to use the IC threads, but those are just...hard to get really into. I'm thinking of making something a bit more organized and comprehensible for newcomers. For starters: I'm thinking of getting some Dark Heresy and Cthulhutech into the mix. My only problems with Cthulhutech are that I don't like Nazaddi and I don't like their work with weapons. I much rather prefer the stance EP has taken with just providing the basic templates and leaving brand names and special models to the players to make for themselves. My thoughts on Dark Heresy are more along the lines of having a revived Holy Roman Empire rise to power through the leadership of a man who claims to be the reincarnation of Emperor Contantine. He starts this whole cult centered around a war with the TITANs during the singularity. He succeeds and starts a Terran Empire kept in power by zealous monopoly imposed on technology, several pseudo religious overtones, and many other elements inspired by W40K fame. Here we could regard the Cthulhu Mythos and the Chaos Gods as all part of one supernatural power source which the Imperium has learned to tap and relatively tame. We could then treat what surviving TITAN elements there are as Necrons, the Hypercorps as we would Tau, and yadda yadda yadda. So far, I think we should just limit the new Imperium's influence to just earth and a few colonies set up on some other planets. We'll also have these super soldiers called Knights fashioned after Space Marines and so on and so forth. I'm not really in the proper mood for being convincing or creative right now. My friends are waiting for me at the bar and I have yet to eat lunch. I'm just posting this here, now, so I won't forget and to see if anyone wants in on this.

Re: Personal Project: Eclipse Phase Setting Homebrew
I was hoping to completely remake the EP setting from even before the fall, but that seemed like too much work so I thought I'll just insert some similarly inspired elements instead after the fall using templates and fluff that are already there as basis. For starters, here's a new Socio-Political movement which will be followed by certain factions underneath its umbrella. THE CRUSADE Memes: Reclaiming Earth, Militarism, Human Supremacy, Mutualism, Religious Idealism, Exsurgent Phobia, AGI Subjugation, Uplift Subjugation, Ecological Utilitarianism, Technological Monopoly, Mutualism, Neo-Feudalism, Theocracy, Jingoism, Fascism, Xenophobia, Manifest Destiny, Aggressive Expansionism Main Stations: New Jerusalem (Luna), Nicea (Earth Orbit) They're a splinter group of Reclaimers who believe in the supremacy of man and their rightful place as the rulers of Earth. They despise AGIs and uplifts, see the exsurgent mutations as abominations, and seek to subjugate former while eradicating the latter. They strongly believe that only through a revival of Pre-Fall ideologies will they be able to achieve the motivation and energy necessary to aggressively reclaim earth and subjugate th TITANs. The groups beneath them operate on such notions, believing everything is beholden to man and his needs. They are highly patriarchal, hierarchical, and xenophobic. This often sets them against xeno-centrists, environmentalists, anarchists, socialists, uplift societies, and AGI societies. Their hell bent determination to achieve technological superiority against TITANs, however, have made them valued allies of the Jovian Republic and feared enemies by opposing interest groups. They maintain a strictly fascist and theocratic organizational structure, buttressing their formidable military assets and propaganda machines with pure slavery. They exploit uplifts, clones, forks, captured deviants and divergents, and even AGI. Some would say that they have become the very thing they profess to fight, with the armies of serfs that toil at their slightest whims. They manage such a framework of staggering size through adapting the Planetary Consortium's structure and molding it to fit their ideologies. The movement is fashions itself a mutual interest group, tying together various factions of like minds and spirit. Management is somewhat decentralized among these groups, but leadership within a certain faction is always fascist, always monopolized, and property is always limited to the ruling echelons of power. Everyone beneath that echelon is a serf, a slave, surviving in some form of Neo-Feudalism. There are, as is known, two general kinds of Crusading factions. There is the Clergy and the Chivalry. The Clergy are the industrial and propagandist factions of the Crusade, specializing in logistical support, keeping the faith, and resource management. They provide the Crusade the framework it requires to achieve, by hook or by crook, the reclamation of earth and the subjugation of lesser beings. The Chivalry, on the other hand, provide the Crusade with the military assets and power it needs to maintain its status as a socio-political powerhouse, a very real threat to those with opposing interests. Despite their human supremacist outlook, they are not outright suspicious of transhumanity's progress, like the bio-conservatives, since they are willing to use anything in their "crusade" for the reclamation of earth. They do believe, however, in the strict monopolization of technology itself, with its use limited to agents of the crusade. The Crusade is wary, rarely associating with other groups and always only with their interests in mind. They never outsource their interests and objectives, always choosing to keep their intentions within their group.
