What do people think about the format of In Character posts? So far there hasn't been much in the way of format, and we've used this forum as a place to kick around some of the less familiar ideas in the setting. The in-character point of view has been fantastic for exploring political and philosophical divides in the setting, and finding the nuance in several political stances. To date, however, there have not been any games run in the In Character forum, and I was wondering if any potential gamemasters had any requests for features or formats? Are there any Mesh Archive topics that people would like to see opened? Any suggestions for other EP Mesh styles?

[hr] I'm interested in some criticism and commentary on IC posts. I don't think any of us are professional writers, so we could all use some help with our posts. I'm never sure if my penchant for surrealism is taken as humorous, or if it is just confusing/irritating. I've been considering putting links between threads at the bottom of posts in order to make the flow between different threads easier to follow, but the multithreaded confusion seems to fit the setting, so I'm not sure what to do. Any suggestions on format? Is Picollo as James Bond/McGuyver/Tek Jansen coming across, or am I just flogging a mess of tropes in the hope that something works? Do other people feel like they would be comfortable "playing through" any of the setting locations? Someone had suggested several months ago a format where a given thread represents a location, and people playing pbp games just write in that location thread if their players are there. That way we all end up enriching the locations, and given the size of the locations there isn't a real problem with teams bumping into each other (unless they want to). This does mean different games should refrain from blowing up habitats as a general course of events, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't happen. Thoughts?@-rep +1

[hr] Yea, I should stop futzing with tenses. I'm trying to maintain active voice rather than passive voice, and I've been entertained by books written in weird tenses (2nd person was odd), but I should cut that out. I wouldn't call Picollo double-alpha-seven disposable, even though that is Jovian Intel's intent with their forked agents. The idea I had for him came from a critique aimed at my arguments about the Jovian Intel having an advantage against transhumans because they could send out these suicide agents. The criticism called bullshit on me because no one considered human by the Jovians would ever passively lie down and die when their mission was done, and I came to agree with this. Hence, the Picollo fork has every intention of surviving, he just needs to find a way to do so. As to the adult content, we are writing a transhuman horror game. Part of the horror is the gulf in social mores between us and the transhuman setting, and a recommendation on limits to writing I've heard before is something like: if you want to spend some time alone with your writing in a dark room, it needs to be toned down.@-rep +1
