CalTech scientists examining KBO orbits have inferred there might be a ninth planet to our solar system: no, not Pluto, but a small gas giant ("ice giant" a la Uranus and Neptune) way the hell out beyond Pluto, beyond Eris.
I like this bit, where the CalTech people were trying to disprove an earlier study that proposed this planet, but instead:
Average distance of 600 AU, accordion to that Wikipedia writeup. So within the grasp of transhumanity in the EP universe! (Disregarding the gates, the farthest sapient life has gotten is, I think, the Tycho Brahe at 8000 AU (Rimward 145)). EP universe already has a Planet X, in fact! "Tyche" on Rimward 145 at 50,000AU. Computer simulations by Caltech's Michael E. Brown and Konstantin Batygin, originally developed to debunk the 2014 paper, instead provided further evidence that Planet Nine may exist.
