Muses seems much closer to reality than AGI
When I first heard of the concept of the muse (not named muse, though) is actually in a manga of technological thriller genre, called Akihabara @Deep, where a bunch of young adult create a small company set in the technological heart of Tokyo to create a new generation of conversational agent. Near completion, their project is stolen by a ruthless Corporate owner, and one of their member dead of an aneurism. But they didn't give up, and ended up creating a whole new level of search engine crossed with digital assistant and expose the bad guy (curtesy of the search engine, actually) A few months later, I came in contact with EP and its muse, more or less forgetting about Akiba @D until now, when I saw this video linked on Dr Michio Kaku's facebook wall: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6BA2v3EbjSQ It maybe not muse, not yet, but it's much nearer to the software described in @Deep What I look forward, myself, is the XPs and full sensory RV like Holoband, but those protomuse is really interresting too

Michio Kaku has a tendency to romanticize too much. While I agree that we are fast approaching the capabilities of the human mind, both he and Peter Diamandis have to realize that we know very little about the intricacies of our mental architecture. I don't even think we can put a concrete number on the calculative capabilities of the human mind. At least not yet. Plus, to go so far as to claim that it could be omniscience and omnipotence is a bit... overdramatic?
