Multiple Campaign Settings using the same game mechanics
I was curious as to whether there were plans to utilize the game mechanics presented in Eclipse Phase to make other campaign settings. I can see a variety of story line ideas from sci-fi to steam punk that could work greatly with what is presented here. I think at least two Campaign worlds would bring a lot to establish the system itself as a uniform system for all further RPGs. Especially after having won an Origin Award (congratulations btw,) it shows a lot of credibility.

Re: Multiple Campaign Settings using the same game mechanics
It seems like a pretty standard percentile system - basically the same system used in the original Call of Cthulhu, and in Chainmail. The actual mechanics are pretty dated. So I guess my answer is 'yes, you are correct', but not sure why you'd post that on an EP forum specifically :P

Well, I was just curious if my train of thought was similar to others.

While the basic dice mechanics are nothing amazingly new, I know I've heard several different people mention possibly running Ghost in the Shell games using the EP rules, since the different morphs, weapons, and implants made it the best fit they could find ability- and equipment-wise.

Re: Multiple Campaign Settings using the same game mechanics
I know when I first looked at Eclipse Phase, I saw Ghost in the Shell myself. But as I dug a little deeper, I saw aspects of The Matrix, Mass Effect and variety of other sci-fi settings. I was curious mainly if the company was even considering expanding to other settings. Eclipse Phase is a game that I enjoy running and playing in, as it causes myself and my group to have to think on a completely different level as we would in any other system. Most games have enough elements of modernism that you can just act like yourself and everything is perfectly fine. In Eclipse Phase you can't hardly take anything from modern thinking and apply it to Transhumanism. It's like if you brought a person from the Roman Empire and expect them to mesh perfectly into our society. A lot of our thinking stems from that early empire, but we have progressed as a society far beyond their everyday thought processes. But that is off topic, not necessarily creating rules for The Matrix, Mass Effect, and Ghost in the Shell (I could do that myself given enough time,) but more original ideas. I like what I see, and apparently the masses do as well.

Unfortunately, those are all big name brands which Posthuman would have to pay big bucks to get rights to. Considering the size of Posthuman, and the previous work of Rob et al., I suspect they don't plan on going down this path (but that's just an educated guess). HOWEVER, I"m sure they would love to see some fan-made material. Work it up, polish it, show it off!
