What's up with the blue planet? In the rpgnet - summary it`s called a toxic hellhole. Does that mean unhabitable at all or just destructed ecology ... do we talk "Do androids dream ...", "Ergo Proxy" or "your average barren planet alike the Moon" here?
Short: Is there a greater population of transhuman life on earth and will it prevail?

The Moon is inhabited, and in fact was overrun by refugees. It is part of one of the three power blocs in the inner system.

But it's more fun (and maybe the basis of an adventure) to think that they can.

I can see it now. The party wakes up in a buried military compound. They're either in synths or they were in cryosleep or some other plot devicey thingy. They have to escape a secure compound filled with defenses and traps. Then, when they think they've made it, they find out that outside is worse.
I'd love to do that to a group of players with no knowledge of the game back story. They think they're about to win, then you leave them with the bioplagues, the nanoswarms and the killsats.
