Morph Selection Traits - alternate char creation idea
With all the potential for egocasting around, the initial morph purchase doesn't seem to fit the setting very well. Instead, I've been considering a rule for Morph Selection Traits. These traits do not count toward the normal trait CP limit. This is just a first draft - any input? Morph Quality 0-100 CPs The character will typically be given access to a Morph of this CP cost (including implants) at his destination, whether it be through Firewall procedure, rep economy contacts, or previously paid morph rental subscriptions. If the scenario calls for lower or higher quality morphs, the GM should maintain a relative balance between the players' Morph Quality costs. In destinations with a good selection of morphs, the player may choose a morph - otherwise the GM selects a morph of proper cost. If available and characters want a better morph, the difference can be paid in credits or favors as usual. The GM may limit the available cost range at character generation to balance the game. Implant Focus [area] 10 CP The player will typically get access to a morph with 5 CPs worth of implants in the selected area (combat, damage resistance, sensors, speed, etc.). This is in addition to the Morph Quality trait. Typically, even at destinations with limited selection, the character will be lucky and find an unusually modified morph. If the GM deems that no morphs with relevant implants are available, the player will get an extra point of Moxie while sleeved with the favored type of implants. This trait can be chosen multiple times. Morph Focus [morph type] 10 CP The player can choose to be sleeved in a morph of the selected type at the destination if available - and often, the player will be lucky to find such a morph even with only moderate body bank choices. If no such morph is available at the destination, the player will get an extra point of Moxie while sleeved in a non-favored morph. Only morphs with costs within the character's Morph Quality budget can be selected. Highly specialized morphs (Q-morphs, neo-cateceans, etc.) can't be selected. This trait can be chosen multiple times.
