I thought I knew how this works, but I can't seem to find a clear answer in the rules, which only specifically mention traits and other stuff on page 124 that lets you go beyond the morph maximum and state that these are things "external factors boosting the morph". This seems to imply that the morphs own aptitude bonuses doesn't let you exceed the maximum.
Does morph aptitude advantages apply before or after the morph maximum? For example a 25 SOM ego in an Olympian morph with +10 SOM, is he at 30 or 35 SOM?

Re: Morph Aptitude max before or after morph bonus?
Boyle answered this in another thread. The Morph Apt bonus *is* subject to the Morph Apt Max. In short, the bonus only helps those who need it. I can try to find the thread.
Non-morph bonuses (including implants) can exceed the Morph Apt Max, but *not* 40. 40 is the hard limit for Apts, period.

Re: Morph Aptitude max before or after morph bonus?
Well there goes my plan for my super-Cyborg to sink all his points into aptitude and default everything!
THANKS YERAMEYAHU (j/k :P)

Thx Yera. I'm surprised it isn't explicitly written that morph bonuses work different than other bonuses.

Re: Morph Aptitude max before or after morph bonus?
It *almost* is. Under Aptitude Maximums, we get this: "Some implants, gear, psi, and other factors may modify a character’s natural aptitudes. These augmented values may exceed a morph’s aptitude maximums". So, the fact that morph bonuses aren't on the list of things that explicitly exceed the max tells us that they don't. No, it's definitely not as explicit as a sentence saying 'any Morph Apt bonus is subject to the Morph Apt Max'. :/
