Mmmm...gotta love that new book smell!
Just got my physical copy of Eclipse Phase in the mail! Man, is this a big ol' book. I have the pdf and all, but I'm one of those dinosaurs that needs the physical format to really ingest the info. Also, I really have to commend Troy Garner on his excellent customer service. When I purchased the book I hadn't realized that the hardcopy wasn't available for release yet. Troy was kind enough to explain the situation to me and even send my the USPS tracking number once the book entered the shipping process.

My copy arrived in the mail today. It is every bit as awesome as the PDF made it seem. Dead tree edition FTW.

I like to refer to it as the "ascended tree" edition.

Are you sure it wasn't a pdf pulled from deep storage and resleeved?

I too shelled out my $50 bucks at a game store.. to keep this great product continuing to be developed. Oddly enough, it's the first RPG in a long time that my wife has been kind of exited about.

French fan over here, book freshly in hand. wonderful world, splendid art for the most part (and thumbs up to Colin Chapman for his inspirational art thread), mature and well-thought universe... Man, I haven't been that excited about a RPG for about 10 years (excluding SR, but there I'm a fanboy). Thanks!
Don't mind me, I'm French. We always talk silly.

Amen, brother. They'll never get that new book smell into a pdf. Also, try reading a pdf in bed just before you go to sleep, or to help you relax and get to sleep. Plus that way the information assimilates into your brain as you sleep. Sometimes you even have a nice dream re the gameworld in question. It's good to have both a pdf and paper edition, as you can print the bare essentials of the PDF into a portable rulebook and haul it around with you to conventions and have the rules handy without risking the expensive book.

So very true. I got my physical book last week, and it's so much nicer to read in bed for all the fluff parts. Rules-wise, though, Ctrl-F makes the PDF very awesome. Plus, since I'd gotten the PDF for free off a file-sharing network, buying the physical book was also a way to show my support to the authors. Releasing the material under a CC license is ideologically awesome, and for that alone Posthuman Studios/Catalyst deserved my money. (other French fan here -- didn't think there'd be two of us ;) )
Come baguette some!

Sorry about the necro. But I could not see any point in creating a new thread. A new shipment of the core arrived at my FLGS (what a wait, I ordered it just after xmas) and I have to say this is one of the coolest mature scifi settings I have come across. The actual book is attractive and a pleasure to read.
