Do we have any information on Martian ecosystems?
I've read in the corebook that they have wineyards on Mars, so i've recently been thinking about how one could build up an artificial ecology with genecrafted organisms as part of the terraforming efforts.
Durable plants and fungi, animals adopted to the climate and so on, splicing together chimeras with traits from various terran lifeforms.
Until now, my speculations for this have mostly centered around organisms living in deserts and savannas, with some temperature tolerance traits from Antarctic species.
The rusters show that integrating tolerance for the Martian environment into a genome is possible, but i'm curious about how far one could take adaptation to Mars if enhancing a creature that is more suited to extreme environments than a human.
