Mapping Software for Sol Star System/Planets Suggestions?
Can anyone recommend a really good software package that allows me to map our Solar System "Sol" and the planets and celestial bodies therein, including the ability to map planets. Ive tried looking and so far have not been able to find a good one or at least not sure what is a good one.

I use Celestia. There's a thread on it which goes into more detail. I jiggered with it a bit to determine what date matches Eclipse Phase (also in that thread). I haven't played with it enough to know how to enter new objects, though.

They both look very cool, Does cellistia have a planet mapping ability? Has anyone made a EP plugin for either engine?

You mean mapping stuff onto the planet? I don't believe so (but I don't honestly know; I haven't played with it that much).

I guess what I am after is a clear easy to visualize map of our star system where I can also add fictional Objects like Aerostats, Space Wessels (I could not help it) etc. It would also be good if I could pull up a 2d map of a planet (Like the one in the Inner System source book) and be able to place locations on it too. does Astrosynthesis have a easy to see map of the solar system and ability to print out planet maps as it seems its primarly for maping LARGE areas of space with lots of systems but doesnt have a graphical map of the solar system or? Same question for Celestia. At any rate thanks for the help so far. I suppose I could say map out the solar system with one program and map out the planets with another.
