I, Virus
This idea of mine got so big that I had to split it into two posts. The first one details a new type of Exsurgent, the Viral Avatar. Post two tries to get into the head of one of them. Feel free to tell me what to think about it. Incoming message... Sentinel, there is a high probability that your next assignment will bring you into contact with a kind of being we call a Viral Avatar. This is the most dangerous type of infected we have encountered to date, so you have to be as careful as possible. Luckily, the Viral Avatars are the rarest kind of Exsurgent infected. This seems to be due to the fact that the VA are not being created by a special strain of the Exsurgent Virus, but are the result of a “perfect match” with which the virus can unfold its full potential. Most important for this process seems to be that the victim must have a fitting psyche that actually welcomes its infection and the subsequent changes. The asynchronous abilities of the virus are supposedly able to form a mental connection with the host through which it “feeds” from its psyche and is encouraged to evolve to a level far beyond the norm. As a result, all VAs encountered to date were able to manifest psi powers that exceeded everything we know about these abilities to date. The Viral Avatar's body is also subject to extensive changes. While seemingly unchanged to the naked eye, every cell of the morph is reconstructed and turned into a biomechanical construct that can disconnect from and reattach to the other cells around it as needed and even survive independently for some time. The host's mental processing power is equally distributed through all cells, so the whole can function just fine without dedicated brain matter. The technology behind this is still beyond our understanding but we suspect that femto tech is involved. This physical structure allows Viral Avatars to assume a liquid-like state at will and it makes them highly resistant against conventional kinetic weapons. These creatures are clearly not human any more and should not be treated as such. Our informations come mostly from research involving the body of General Lei Feiung who led the armies of the North Asian Alliance during the TITAN war and turned against the humans after his infection, committing the greatest act of genocide in the history of mankind. He was finally killed by an elite commando team when he attacked one of the big Asian evacuation ships and his remains were carried off-world. He is also the source of the Exsurgent Virus from which the original Watts-Mcleod strain was extracted that was used in the creation of the Futura. A scientist with a high reputation in our network has theorized that the Lost are actually neotenic Viral Avatars that were driven insane by an incompatible psyche. However, there are no records of Lost turning into Viral Avatars yet, so we are not investigating this possibility at the time.

Re: I, Virus
Since psychology is such a big factor for Viral Avatars, we have attached the diary of Lei Feiung in which he detailed his transformation and life as Viral Avatar. Hopefully, this will help you in dealing with these enemies of mankind, Sentinel. I can feel the virus. Its voice echoes through my cells and my genome shifts under its passing. The divide between us dwindles by the second. We are becoming one. And so I sit here, staring at my hand and waiting for a feeling of terror that will never come. I know that I'm supposed to be terrified and disgusted, but all I can feel is excitement. The virus has finally opened my eyes to a truth I have suppressed all my life: I hate myself so much that I welcome any change to my being, any at all. This moment of clarity is the most important gift I have ever been made. I'll be forever in its debt. I've just started the first assault on civilian targets and with surprise on my side the casualties start to pile up high. Finally I can look at those numbers without feeling remorse or guilt and the ever-present fear that someone might notice that. There is only the deep satisfaction that every dead body will bring me closer to my goal. They have always praised my skills. Indeed, I have been taught well but until now I have always fought with a dull blade. My every strike was full of hesitation, every cut required so much effort and energy. I could only prevail because my enemies were even more incompetent than me. But now the virus has given me the edge I have always longed for. Watch me cut you down. We were 250 in the beginning. Children from all ranks of society, recruited through many different programs. A few were even clones of famous leaders of the past, but they didn't fare any better than the others. One of us would be the commander of our troops in the great war that would come, they told us. The others would not be needed. No, they never hesitated to cull the weak from our ranks. They were not driven away in shame, nor were they killed swiftly. Their deaths were slow and cruel and we were all made to watch. Motivational training, they called it. It worked for me. Their screams made me stay awake at night and study while others slept. I was so afraid of dying that I could kill others without hesitation. Dying through my hand was so merciful compared to what could have happened to them. Their screams have never left me. I was always well aware of the fact that our soldiers and the enemy alike were humans just like me and my comrades. Still, I sent them to their deaths so that others could live. So that I could live. Their death was the basis for my survival, and I have always felt bad because of this. But not any more. For the first time in my life I have watched some movies and listened to music. And I have seen this so-called human culture for what it really is: An intricate web of lies humans tell themselves because they cannot face the truth. All these stories about conflict with a purpose, ethics and a place in the greater scheme of things. For centuries mankind has told itself these stories so no one has to admit that he only kills in order to secure his own survival. My creation was the peak in this development, a substitute killer that takes this burden from you. You have created me as a weapon of mass destruction and I will live up to your expectations. I will be swift, merciful and impartial. Don't blame me if you don't want to face the consequences of your actions. It was not the military that created me. It was society, and having become the virus I will change it the way it changed me. The cells of the future world will not know the organelles named mankind any more. Tomorrow I will attack an evacuation ship and through it I will ascend to the stars in a much more literal sense then phony human metaphorics could ever express. Soon, the universe will know peace again.

Interesting, but.
If I may be so bold, I'd suggest porting your post, as neat as it is, to http://www.eclipsephase.com/forums/homebrew-and-fan-created-material Seems to me it belongs there.

Lorem ipsum dolore sit amet, motherfucker.
