Hello all, had a quick question regarding the High G Adaptation bioware from Gatecrashers. It isn't listed as being available as cyberware, and I was curious as to why.
Obviously, synths don't have circulatory systems, but otherwise the effects (strengthening of the skeletal and muscular systems, strengthened ligaments and tendons) seems to be pretty analogous to improved and strengthened frames/servos/electro-active polymer muscle fibers/etc. to me. Synths don't get a free pass with regards to higher gravity as far as I remember, so I was curious as to whether there was a rationale I was missing here. So far as I can tell, synths are built for Earth gravity or lower, and would need upgrades and modifications to operate efficiently in high G, just like a biomorph.
Any ideas?

Re: High G Adaptation
Not to mention that, at a mere [Moderate], it's a hugely effective augmentation, even without the (primary) gravity resistance.

Re: High G Adaptation
I'd say just assume a cyberware equivalent exists. There not being one mentioned sounds like an oversight to me.

Re: High G Adaptation
While I'd initially thought that it might not be available because synthmorphs/robots already had structural enhancement available, the two are different enough that I'd join those saying go ahead and allow it. If anything, though, synthmorphs should get a better version of it -- a high-G biomorph might handle 2Gs without difficulty, but a high-G synthmorph ought to be able to handle quite a bit more.

Re: High G Adaptation
Yeah, we were debating between raising its cost to High, or dropping the +5 SOM and leaving the cost at Moderate. Settled on the latter, since it seems to line up better with other Moderate cost modifications (e.g. Respirocytes).

Re: High G Adaptation
Yeah. Basically, it's Respirocytes (+5 DUR) [Moderate] + Muscle Augmentation (+5 SOM) [High] = … [Moderate]? Oy. (Plus, of course, the actual gravity tolerance effect.) It should cost at least [High], possible with some minor penalty to something. The lack of cost granularity is an issue if you're worrying about balancing things that closely, of course. Probably best not to sweat it.
