Glory question [GMs only! Contains player spoilers.]
I'm running my players through Glory as an introduction to the system. They're in the pre-planning phase of dealing with the Song Cai Flower and currently have no idea what's actually there. The first idea that has come up is applying demolitions to the outside of the Ops Center to "create a distraction and allow them to infiltrate and retrieve Yu or her stack". I'm wondering what the feasibility of bombing the ops center would be.

Re: Glory question
I'm guessing I'm a bit too late to help here. What did you end up doing? For other GMs facing the same question, my answer would be, "Sure, why not?" Hull plating is thick and difficult to damage, but it's certainly not impossible to do this if the group shows up with enough explosives. Consider the following, though: 1. This puts every member of the gang on alert and in full combat mode. 2. Point out to the group that they don't know where in the ship Yu is if she's still alive. She might be in the Ops center. And if they made a deal to retrieve Sammy Li's keepsake, they could be inadvertently destroying that, too. 3. If the breach they make is too small, Phuong Le might just plug it with part of her body. (Have some exploded mutant babies fly out through the breach if you really want to go splatterpunk). Or, if you want her to be feistier, give her an arm or tentacle long enough to reach outside the hull and grapple the first idiot who gets too close. 4. If the gang is alerted, they might decide to fire the engines and start the trip to the sun early. If you're mean, you can have the g forces cause the docking gantry to shear off, potentially leaving PCs trapped on the the hull of a rapidly accelerating spaceship full of psychopathic cannibals. Hope that helps. :)

Re: Glory question
I'm planning this myself right now, too. I'll have to remember to jot down some ideas for the consequences of the players being too "action hero" :)

Re: Glory question
Awesome points about Phuong Le. We haven't gotten to the infiltration yet, the party is just getting ready to park their ship at the edge of Mesh range from the Song Cai Flower to allow their hacker time to spoof an account and see what's happening on the ship. I plan on using the spotty spime coverage and the fact the Wei is closely monitoring the Ops Center to build some tension, not allowing them to get a clear look at anything, maybe a glimpse of a breeder from a malfunctioning spime and an audio feed of Phuong Le's mouths singing a broken chorus of 7 different lullabies. They haven't settled on how they're infiltrating yet. One player wants to puppet sock a case loaded with superthermite charges into the reactor module and then contact them for negotiations... actually, I think he just wants to blow things up :) I'll let you guys know what happened. It's a Play by post game so it might take a few weeks.
