Anyone else think it would be cool to get a dedicated EP chat room going?

We had one. Not sure if it is still frequented. The trouble is there isn't really that much to talk about in real time that doesn't work on a forum.

That, and it could have also been because no one knew. I know I didn't. But yeah, I imagine that not much would change with regards to the dialog. And there would be a lot of quiet time. One of the disadvantages of a live chat over a forum is that if you post up something interesting, but no one who would have wanted to discuss it logs in until after it's posted, then they might not have the opportunity to jump into the conversation as easily.

It was posted about and had an active topic on these forums for quite a bit. However I think this was during one of your absences? Anyway, I didn't like using it much for anything other than, for lack of a better word, circlejerking about the setting. As may be apparent by the content of the majority of my posts I am a rules/crunch man. Real time communication is inferior to forum posts for such things. You don't have enough time in an actual conversation to do rule checks and page references. Things tend to devolve into "if I remember correctly (you don't)" quite quickly.

That's true. I suppose a chat forum might be more useful for a philosophical debate, however. So long as people don't start bringing up external references. Could be fun as a means of just discussing transhumanism in general, and our feelings regarding various aspects of it.
