Death contingency plan
so World War Z movie is out and one of my friend is upset, clearly the movie can't be the book one of the thing my friend like the most in the book is a contingency plan after the zombie attack who give a score to everyone relative to there use in a society. so big boss, hige rate people falls to the bottom, etc. it made me think, how I see it is that most Jovian don't have cortical stack so when they die ... well they die it's probably a bad ideaand it's why I think that high rate people who knows, who steer the Jovian society use cortical stack and resleeving (let's say ... 1% ;) ) but high soldier, top notch scientists and other valuable asset have a stack but didn't know, when they die they will be resleeve without knowing they were death I will go further in saying that they are fork without consent and sent into colonies, top secret lab, etc. those this seems too far fetch ? Are the Jovian "has bad" ? Is it "bad" when survie it's the moto ?

What do you mean a butterfly cause this ? How a butterfly can cause an enviromental system overload on the other side of a 10 000 egos habitat ?

A lot of people I know
A lot of people I know absolutely refuse to think a brain emulation is "real", and that a cortical stack would be a backup. A way of creating a delusional identical twin, yes, but not the real "you". Philosophically I do not think there is a truth to personal identity, but this is very much a nonstandard view among humans. Most people do have firm opinions and will not be budged about such life-and-death (or spiritual) matters. So I can totally imagine Jovian society in the large being *fine* with mortality, just like a lot of people today seem to be OK with it (just try to argue for immortalism a bit and you will see the surprising conservatism). Individuals might disagree, but it is not implausible that the sorting that occurs when the transhumanists leave and the conservatives immigrate (plus normal cultural pressure) makes the JR honestly not want stacks. (They might still use them as a necessary evil for some purposes, of course. And hypocrites are everywhere.)

I'm sure that most Jovian
I'm sure that most Jovian think that way, they probably have some stats that prove it my point is more what the Jovian do to keep an edge, they probably fork someone without saying it to him ... having a world renoun physicist on anti-mater weaponery and having the possibility to duplicate it or if someone extract/kill him ... you have a backup, you sleeve him in the night and in the morning is right on time at the job like usual (but this time is right on time at the Jovian lab and the consortium lab)
