Rediscovering an old game. I loved Cyberpunk when it was new and exciting and those people could make it up-to-date.
Enjoy the fantastic teaser http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P99qJGrPNLs
There's no denying it's a fantastic FMV trailer. It's just gorgeous to look at. Still, it irks me something fierce when companies put out trailers for a game that don't actually show any gameplay, 'cuz you know the game is going to look totally different from this.
I guess that's the point of a teaser trailer, building up the hype train, but still, it's a pet peeve.

I don't actually think that the intention of this particular trailer is for hype, at least not for the final product. The Cyberpunk 2070 project is extremely early in its development. And I am talking 'still actively hiring people to work on it' early. I think this is more of an announcement, 'this is what we are working on, look at how awesome it could be'.

Thaaaaat's pretty much my definition of "hype", sir.
It isn't exactly unprecedented for CD Projekt to release trailers and other promotional materials so early - I still remember how they teased everybody with the first Witcher, years before it actually came out.
At this point the trailer proves only one thing - that CD Project made a good decision when they hired Platige Image studio to make CGI movies for them.
I'm sure they have every intention to deliver a great game - and means to do so. They just won't do it this year. Or the next one.
I guess it's called "teaser" for a reason.

That's pretty much my takeaway, yes, but I still grump about non-gameplay trailers 'cuz that's what bitter old gamers like me do sometimes.
I just hope it's better than the Witcher. While I know there are plenty of folks that swear by it, I found that game unbearable to play for more than five minutes at a time.
You know how protective he is of his game.
Oriflam -french editor and publisher of CP- wrote an original campaign for Cyberpunk 203x (3.0's name)
And it took them several rewrites, and over a year and a half before Pondsmith greenlit the publication.
So you can bet he has his finger deep in that pie.
The fact that it's CD Projekt who do the game and not NC Soft is for me a real relief. I shudder at what they'd have cut of the original tone.
and yes, that's indeed Alt Cunningham on that commercial poster
I think there is a Johnny Silverhand poster or flyer somewhere too
in the meanwhle look for Miracle Of Sound's song "City of Night" and "Cyberpyschosis" on Facebook.
They're awesome!
