As I understand the ruled on page 192, if a defender suceeds with critical success on their fray roll, something happens to the attackers weapon.
Now, surely if some has high fray skill, they have more chance to get critical fray successes. Why should their skill have any remote connection to the effect on an attackers weapon?
I am thinking here about guns. It does mention ranged weapons, which I assume includes guns.
A super-skilled dodger has more chance to break a firers rifle.? Tell me I've read it wrong!
Hmmmmmm.....
Cheers all.

Re: Critical dodge breaks sniper's gun?
I don't know what you're reading. All I see is this: "If the defender rolls a critical success, they dodge with flair, reach cover that protects from follow-up attacks, maneuver to a superior position, or otherwise benefit.'

Re: Critical dodge breaks sniper's gun?
Could you quote the paragraph that indicates this? Page 192 is the combat synopsis, and the only reference to critical successes on the defenders part would be;
"If the defender rolls a critical success, they
dodge with flair, reach cover that protects from
follow-up attacks, maneuver to a superior position,
or otherwise benefit."
Nothing on weapon breakage.

Re: Critical dodge breaks sniper's gun?
This is the errata - and the version in the current pdf - yep.
I think the OP is looking at the printed rulebook which states: "If the defender rolls a critical success, the attacker's weapon breaks, jams, gets stuck somewhere, or otherwise malfunctions or gets dropped."
So, to the OP, check the Errata. That paragraph got changed :)

Cheers for that.
Errata, aha! I assumed my book was the latest printing or something.

Re: Critical dodge breaks sniper's gun?
It should say first printing on page 5, same as my book, and first printings tend to have printing errors/errata especially in game manuals.

Re: Critical dodge breaks sniper's gun?
Yeah nothing better than blowing 50+ bucks on a book thinking it's a finished product and getting the shite printing. One of many things I hate about the gaming industry.

Re: Critical dodge breaks sniper's gun?
Is there a 2nd printing then?
If so, my shop can have this one back.

Re: Critical dodge breaks sniper's gun?
Currently no. The real second printing is coming probably sometime this year. They did a kind of second printing, but Catalyst fucked it up and just did a redo of the current one without errata.
I believe the current workload over at Posthuman is Panopticon and fiddling with the new printing of the Core. The Core will have a new ISBN so it should be easy to get your hands on one when it is released. Until then,

Is a link to all the current Core errata.
