Hey, so I admit, I love messing around with cyberlimbs. You can do so much with a cyberlimb+ that you can't accomplish with normal flesh and blood limbs, and that +5 SOM it gives is much appreciated as well.
So I wanted to ask around, what's the craziest/funniest/most OP/favorite cyberlimb you've designed? I figure there must be other cyberlimb users around here who like to trick out their limbs just like I do, and we could share ideas on what neat little features to incorporate.
Some of the limbs I've designed
- A tail with a compact sniper rifle built in, and a special AI program created by the character to manage aiming and firing it for him with deadly accuracy. The AI was made by taking a regular device AI and taking all of its processing ability and focusing it on kinetic weapon skill and obeying basic commands, so it was really good at its job. And it could have its own initiative and action turn, so the character (a techie type mostly) could do his hacking business while his gun defended him
-Dual tentacles, had SMGs and vibroblades built in, could retract completely or extend up to 20 feet to do things. Various combat maneuvers using them were possible, such as making a coccoon for extra armor in a pinch, assisted jumps, rooting into place to fire big guns and handle the recoil, impaling people for use as human shields, and devastating aerial unarmed combat strikes
- OP vibroblade drill arm, three vibroblades would extend and connect, then spin like a drill for unarmed combat strikes that technically would do 12d10 damage AP-15, not even counting for the base unarmed strike damage or the hydraulic cylinder bonus or somatics... of course I self-ruled they were weaker since the method of drilling was unorthodox, but it was still something you didn't EVER want to hit you XD
- An improvement on the vibradrill, this one was in tentacle form, but also had a plasma weapon and seeker missles, it would drill through armor and then fire an explosive at point blank inside the armor, was meant for dealing with a specific party member in case he became an enemy, guy had something like 40 armor and all of the mods possible, so my character built this as an anti-him measure, was also useful for dealing with tanks and the like.
Well those were some of my favorites. I look forward to seeing what crazy things the rest of you have invented for your characters, I'm sure there are some awesome ideas

One theoretical idea
Never actually built this, but I had an idea for a Scum with two cyberlimb legs, who was in fact totally mechanical from the waist down. In-story justification was that she was in an industrial accident and didn't want to just remake the same legs again. She would be able to detach from her lower body and (slowly) climb around, while her legs acted as a very limited robot. She would also carry a crappy discount plasma rifle with a chance of backfiring…
There was this other idea I had for a Jovian who went a bit off the deep end and replaced his whole left arm with cybernetics. It was also my testing grounds for a "dumb Cyberclaw", just a hidden diamond-tipped blade that only fits in synths or cyber parts (you'd get a really nasty infection and a lot of bleeding otherwise).

Cyberlimb + Invisibility = Hilarity.
I'm not sure all those are legal to the RAW, but who cares :P
Honestly the most blindingly useful place for cyberlimbs is for neoavians and aquatic uplifts.
Because nothing says eclipse phase like a kickboxing dolphin.

In the past we've had to compensate for weaknesses, finding quick solutions that only benefit a few.
But what if we never need to feel weak or morally conflicted again?

I know a guy, I'm going to tell him about the idea of a kickboxing dolphin, and I will bet you anything his next character is going to be exactly that, possibly even just his next morph for his current character XD
