There's a few issues I'm not sure about this augmentation that essentially allows one to host a second ego in the same morph and cortical stack (note that this is different from keeping an extra ego in a ghostrider module in that 1. the two egos are constantly "mindlinked" and 2. the second ego can instantly get control of the morph, without any need of resleeving).
Question n.1: the second ego can be "a separate character (in ego form only) made by the player" - so does this mean I get another 1000CP to design this second character?
Question n.2: this augmentation gives you an extra Complex Action per turn - though it seems quite reasonable that this second action is taken by the *second* ego, the one in the background, and should thus be taken with that second ego's abilities, aptitudes, traits etc. Am I correct?
Question n.3: "For all intents and purposes, the extra personality is treated as a separate ego (i.e., it may fork separately)": does this mean this augmentation can be simultaneously active with a Multi-tasking cyberware implant (allowing the primary ego to create short terms forks of itself)? Multitasking says it is not compatible with augmentation giving extra complex actions, but depending on the answer to Q.2 Multiple Personalities would not really give a character extra actions - it just allows to egos to exist, without either of them getting extra actions.

Yes, depending on your Gamemaster. S/he may also want to build an NPC for you. That is how it is implied, yes. The second action can be Mesh or mental only. The Multiple Personalities bioware splits brain space, the Mutlitasking cyberware utilizes cortical stack space. Both personalities are backed up on the cortical stack, so they are both wired to it. You should be able to combine them easily enough, for a maximum of 4 Complex Actions (3 mesh/mental), and a maximum personality ratio of 3:1.@-rep +1

[hr] If you are just trying to get lots of actions, there is a cheaper way. COST [High] = 5x[Moderate] = 20x[Low] [Moderate] = 4x[Low] METHOD 1 Cyberbrain [Moderate] Muse [Free] Multiple Personalities [High] Multitasking (2 copies) [High] 5 Complex Actions METHOD 2 Cyberbrain [Moderate] Muse [Free] Ghostrider Module [Low] x40 42 Complex Actions For the same cost as your method, you can get a nice little Fork commune going. Using the Teamworking rules, groups of 4 working on the same project give the primary a +30. Other than the certainty of a GM kicking me in the head for asking, I see no reason why a parallelizable task can't be split hierarchically. GM head-kicking and the laser-pitchfork wielding mob of anti-Singularity reactionists.@-rep +1

[hr] Good point about the Forking process. I was thinking that with a pile of ghostrider modules, there would be a rotating list of alpha or beta forks who were focusing on either spinning off delta forks, or merging with delta forks (1 Action Turn to create, 1 to merge). I imagine the information and personality changes would spread at a some logarithm rate, so the whole thing could be seen as one giant mind "dreaming" it's different selves. Even with a low Pychosurgery score, running great numbers of delta forks would help average away any mental trauma caused by forking and merging.@-rep +1

[hr] And I'm waiting for my brain to remind me why I ignored that. You're right, it's pretty clearly not allowed.@-rep +1
