EP Quickstart Rules for Kindle
I've become quite the Kindle addict, to the point where I've started converting or creating a lot of supporting RPG material for use on the Kindle. In most cases, PDFs just don't work well because there is no text reflow, and the zoom is slow and clumsy. It can be challenging because of limitations in the format, but after a few weeks I figured out a lot of nifty tricks that make some text not just readable, but really useful as well. With that in mind, I've created a special Kindle version of the EP Quick-Start rules, and I'd love to share it with anyone who is interested. I wanted to put it up on the Kindle store at Amazon (greater exposure, wireless delivery), but everything has to have a minimum price of 99 cents. It's a shame because it would have been a way to have this QSR on devices like the iPhone as well. Anyway, you can download it from the link below, unzip it and use the USB cable to save it onto your Kindle. It's very hyperlinked throughout (including a TOC), almost non-linear in parts. All the original content is there with the exception of the character starter sheets; you'll still want to have hard copies of those available for reference and your players. All of the tables are there, nicely formatted for readability on the reader and make an excellent quick reference. Even the maps in the adventure "Mind the WMD" are included, zoomable and converted for visibility on the screen. There's a few other surprises as well, so I hope you enjoy exploring and using it at your game table. I used it 2 weeks ago and walked in with nothing but my Kindle, the character sheets folded into its case, and my iPhone for the dice roller. It wasn't quite transhuman, but it was very 21st century :) Let me know what you think. I'm planning on doing my own small RPG in a very Kindle friendly format, and may make some additional EP adventures and material available this way as well if there is interest. EP Quick-Start Rules for Kindle (AZW format, 487kb; zipped 211kb) EP Quick-Start Rules, MOBI version (MOBI format, 482kb; zipped 211kb) - same as above with the exception of some Kindle specific material

You're welcome, Rob, and thanks for adding that. Hopefully the plugs in the back for "Lack" and "Melt" might lead to a few additional sales of those (through the Kindle store) as well. I had a hack some Kindle sample books to figure out how to embed those direct-to-Kindle-Store links, a pretty nifty feature. And I just ordered the new Kindle 3, so I'm hoping there may even be an opportunity to do more like this in the future if I see that there's a need and enough interest.
