Jovian Republic
Where does the Junta's spheres of Influence encompass? The text is rather vague in what the Republic claims as its territory. The only clear stated locations that I found off hand are Ganymede and Callisto (pg 100) While within the “protection” of the Jovian Republic, both moons are a patchwork of city-states. Some are full members of the Jovian polity, while others are only tolerated. Ganymede tends to swing more heavily toward the Junta, as its citizens still see the Junta-maintained infrastructure—accurately or not—as necessary in such a hostile environment. By definition the Jovian system consists of Jupiter and its moons and most likely the Trojans, but I do not get the same feeling for the Jovian Republic. Thoughs?

At the very least the Jovian Republic controls an area that encompasses the ideal "slingshot" path through the Jovian system (ie everything within the first few moons around Jupiter). The core book is clear in that the Trojans are not in Jovian control, and the outermost moons are only under pseudo control at best. My guess is that the Jovians lay claim and have the ability to effectively strike against any target within the Jovian system (Jupiter and its moons), but they only closely monitor the moons within "slingshot" range of Jupiter itself (with active patrols). Anything beyond that would strain their resources.

Thats more or less how I feel about the Junta. I just wanted a second opinion. Ive got a scenario running which will bring my players to Jupiter and I have a few uplifts in the group. Should be interesting.

I got an idea for Junta propaganda video from this old USA cartoon intro made during 80s Reagan era. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bUe5Ugg6Iks I got this vision of Junta special commando in battle nano-suits, the looks of their opponents in itro actually would fit many post-human modified entities, along with space-octopus ;]
