Ok, I think it's safe to say that the main face of "transhumanism" for most people is the "ghost in the shell" universe, and I was wondering if it would be possible to run GitS style adventures in the EP universe? Is it close enough to GitS to use the same themes and memes? Could someone give me an idea of what it's like in re to GitS, basically is it like "GitS, with an emphasis on early space travel and some alien contacts" or something like that?
Since there's no official GitS RPG system yet, could someone wanting to run a GitS campaign use EP as a system, and is the hardware in it compatible with a GitS setting?
You know, this could be helpful to EP, since a lot of people into transhumanism are nto GitS maybe explaining EP in GitS terms, or even Shirow's other greag work, "Apleseed", mgiht help attract some players, so if you want to help EP grow you might consider ways to relate it to GitS and appleseed, and if the game's any good I hope this suggestion helps it.

You could certainly use EP to run a GitS setting campaign, it wouldn't take much. EP has rules for cyberbrain hacking, androids, wireless mesh interaction, spider-like robots, etc. In fact, this is the sort of thing we'd love to see someone write up and post under the Creative Commons license!
In terms of comparing EP and GitS -- well, they're pretty different settings. GitS is focused in one locale on Earth, and is primarily political espionage and crime and terrorism plots, whereas in EP Earth is ruined so everything takes place elsewhere in the solar system and the technology is a bit more advanced (nano, uploading, etc).
