I've come up with a solution that my group really likes, at least when it comes to the rapid switching out of equipment. I've made Magic card-sized descriptions of gear that I printed out and cut up. Players take the cards for the equipment that they currently have and put them into Magic card protective sheets (about the size of a sheet of paper that holds nine Magic cards).
They have their equipment right there, organized and easy to see; they can also keep track of the amount of ammo left, doses of drugs, etc by writing on the plastic sheet with erasable markers. It's been working really well and you can put all the relevant information for any piece of gear on one Magic-card sized piece of paper. I've done so for all the gear in the 2e core rules and here is a link to the pdf of the file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/apnpsz4w317w69q/Gear%20cards.pdf?dl=0. Tell me if there are any issues with downloading it. There are probably lots of errors, so please tell me when you find them! Brutalitea has a huge "3" and "8" because the table and text contradict each other and I wanted to keep track of that.
There are icons to indicate the general category that gear is in (and drugs get two if they're not biochemical). Not every drug has been converted to digital versions because we haven't used them all yet and I got tired...
When I cut them up I noticed that I often didn't cut them up exactly on the lines and these cards were often a tiny bit too large and bend slightly when inserted into Magic card sheets. I'd recommend printing them out at 95%, which helped me.
Enjoy!

I like it. Simple design and contains all the info needed. I was struggling with making my own... I'll certainly use yours instead :)
