Extremely Loud Noise Effects
250 decibels of noise is way more than enough to kill a human and very possibly a transhuman. What affect will this noise cause to various habitats? If someone dies from this, will the resonation destroy the cortical stack? I'm asking for a friend.

In theory the cortical stacks
In theory the cortical stacks are designed to be really hard to damage (so you need Plasma or specialized equipment to blow one), so I doubt the vibrations would damage it unless we go to the "the armor on the bodies is flaking"... Per the rules, the environmental adaptations might provide resistance or immunity to this thing, and I would also be wary of generalizations like "transhuman" when talking about what physical stuff affects people, because there are a lot of different morphs, and I doubt something that won't break the habitat will break down some synthmorphs, specially those designed to work in extremely hard industrial environments.

Quite a while ago I heard
Quite a while ago I heard about "sound guns". What Wikipedia gave me was this: Sonic Weapon The article mentiones some uses of sonic weapons and some reports that are most probably false. From my gutfeeling I would say that it is very hard or more likely just impossible to transport enough energy via sound waves to destroy a cortical stack. Another idea: Could you hit the natural frequency of a cortical stack? Would you be able to transport this energy via sound waves through air and then through matter (the morph surrounding the cortical stack)? And now questions keep coming: Could you pherhaps design a seeker bullet that goes for the cortical stack and starts vibrating in it's natural frequency and destoyes the stack as soon as it makes contact? Sounds nice to me. :-)

"brown note" is a trope for a reason XD. Using sound to suppress people might be feasible, after all there only needs to find a wave that turns our inner ear totally bonkers (good luck doing anything but being miserable if a vertigo attacks you at 100%), but using sound to break a cortical stack? There are much simpler ways to kill people than to sing them to death, even inside of a concert XD Like, make them eat plasma. Or throw the stack inside a dissassembler. Or through the airlock.

But why go for simple, when you can have unexpected, interesting, disturbing or confusing... Hitting natural frequencies is not so much about singing as more about vibrations and resonance. I really like the idea of seeker bullets that dig into the back of your head and start vibrating to destroy your stack... One of these things got you not expecting anything bad and now you start to have this nasty sensation of different ultrasound wavelengths beeing tried by the device to make your stack crack. You start thinking when your last backup was and which information might be lost, when you start to get hearing problems and the first visual halucinations kick in. Disturbingly the whole process also seems to affect your mesh inserts and the connection between biological tissue and cyberware is hindered. Meanwhile your stomach seems to consider emtiing itself, you are waiting for the results of the search for counter measures by your muse, breathing gets heavy as the overall situation deteriorates...

Some youtube nonsense I just sumbled upon: How Black Bolt Shatters Mountains with Sound! (Because Science w/ Kyle Hill) I thought it was quite interesting in the context here. Enjoy

The thing about resonance is
The thing about resonance is that it requires fairly uniform material to achieve. Presumably the stack would be cased in diamond, bit have variablly dense materials throughout. So it might be possible to crack the case, but the sound waves would be altered by the flesh around it and thus nearly impossible. With a sufficiently powerful sound wave you could probably brute force obliterate one, but at that point it would also demolish anything in the AOE softer than diamond. Cheaper to just invest in anti-matter. Its the only way to be sure.
If you took the monsters' point of view, everything they did made perfect sense. The trick was learning to think like a monster.
