Emergent posthumans. What have you spawned through play.
I noticed a peculiar theme: although Eclipse Phase is a transhumanist RPG, player characters often develop into posthuman beings due to pushing the envelope of system's possibilities. It especially happens to powergamers who behave like Exhumans, sacrificing humanity of their characters for additional power. It would almost seem that to have transhuman Player Characters you need to play cyberpunk RPG. Lately my character is on the way to turning into a fork hive. My fellow agent is already a fork family. Another one started Darwinian selection of his forks for spec-ops and intelligence work. So I ask you fellow players: what posthuman beings have you witnessed emerging i EP campaigns? DISCLAIMER: I know that there is a lot of "normal" transhuman characters. For example we have a car mechanic in our team of weirdos.

Know-it-all
Does this count? sage infomorph that has absolutely no physical skills and has invested all points in technical, professional, and academic skills like a sublime-clade exhuman

Hmm purely digitally focused being definitely fits posthuman label. It would be mostly dependent on existing infrastructure though. Or symbiosis with existing physically notdisabled egos/programs. So it strikes me as limited in universality.

Does drone jamming count as a physical skill or a technical skill? Even an infomorph might find value in joy-sticking a servitor or three in order to go do regular maintenance on their substrate.
A slight smell of ions....

I would consider it physical for jamming. And mental for directing.

In my current campaign I'm playing an async Oct-uplift who is a soul eater Exhuman. Also has multiple errant forks. I try to balance the advantages of my character with their inherent mental instability (frequent atavistic episodes, multiple personalities, etc).
If you took the monsters' point of view, everything they did made perfect sense. The trick was learning to think like a monster.

I play Fiddler's Green, a XXth century comic book inspired character, who was uplifted from an ego-hunter's Muse to a full sentient infolife designed to house his battle-worn master in a sort of digital afterlife, designed to look like a north-Irish beach in constant state of sunset, when the sun touches the water. Fiddler's Green identifies as a virtual location rather than a person or an individual. To his human friends Fiddler's Green appears digitally as one of his Established Forks - Gilbert, Howard or Herbert, designed after XXth century writers Gilbert Chesterton, Herbert Wells and Howard Lovecraft. He owns a portable lockbox server with shape adjustment upgrade that let's it transform itself into a motorized wheelchair, that carries around a male-variant Ayah pod that looks like an old Japanese man and a mimic that usually takes on the form of a pillow, hand bag or a case. As part of the team Fiddler's Green tries to perform the function of medic and psychosurgeon, as well as a rather competent blueprint programmer. In his spare time he runs Artificial Anonymous meetings for infolifes with issues. His views tend to be rather radical, as a lot of his knowledge about the world is based on PreFall Japanese animation. His driving motivations are +Helping Others, +Self Development, -Violence

Why does he wheel around the Ayah pod? It could easily be directed by puppet sock to walk along or is the server faster? I guess FG is doing it avoid to much time forked and sleeved. Also it gave me an idea that seems to not be really explored in the adventures. As sleeving habitats is possible I'm now partial to run a game where players explore a habitat that wants to kill them. Maybe a habitat that wants to do the Indoctrination thing from Mass Effect. Places could really become characters. You don't go to the club. You go into "Johnny Walker". Great inspiration.

With his limited knowledge of human interaction he finds that a wheelchair makes him look small and unassuming in some situations, like heroes' sidekick. Also useful for those moments when you want to go limp real quick to hack that pesky sensor. Maybe not such a big deal in this system, with puppet socks and all. But he does spend most of his time as an infomorph, puppet-socking his physical morphs. Wheelchair just gives good mobility system to carry the rest of the morphs (ayah and mimic) around, while also providing a good place to hide things and egos. Certainly not fooling anyone with "paraplegic pod" nonsense. Also, when ayah morph does stand up - it usually means my Partner is sleeved in, who is more of a physical "hands on" kind of dude and sh*t is about to hit the fan.

a soul-eater habitat that only consumes back-up copies of egos and seems to be just a tad too intimate with his visitors is a scary idea indeed.
