Interesting offer. I'll warm up my writing skills and see what I can produce.

Some Examples?
Could you post an example of the first style? I want to make sure that I understand the prompt. The other two feel a little more self-explanatory, but examples of those wouldn't hurt either I guess, haha.

I'm looking forward to this,
I'm looking forward to this, though I do admit when it was first announced I somehow missed that it wasn't prose (I had been thinking of the little stories that appear at the start of the books and such). So, I'm going to need to take a drastically different approach... and try my best to decide which of the two topics I want to write about will get submitted.

Submitted. I get the feeling competition is going to be rather stiff on this one.

I suspect prose is one of those things that a 'proven' writer would be asked to do, given that the format the EP books use isn't an easy one to write, let alone write well. Who knows, maybe writers who do particularly well in this open call will be the ones doing prose down the track?

...huh, I had thought the submission page had stated only one submission per person... but now I'm seeing multiple submissions are acceptable. Well, that solves that then, I'll just do both and see what sticks!

Yea, once they probably get
Yea, once they probably get around 30 or more submissions, quality probably doesnt matter for the invidual submitter as it just random. Its 8, plus overflow so 10 maybe 12, but probably 10. So that means 1/3 will get pick, so 66 percent chance of not getting picked.

I always assume a 98% rejection rate regardless of actual chances anyway - I get complacent if I don't and produce shitty work.

The first style is very simply the style that Eclipse Phase books traditionally take: they begin with a section written in a character's voice talking about the subject from an in-universe point of view, which may include sidebars and augmented reality message windows/texts/etc, and they close with a short Game Information section that spills the beans on secrets, additional facts, and things that are not known to the typical character within the Eclipse Phase universe.

Multiple proposals from any
Multiple proposals from any one person are acceptable. Before we evaluate submissions, we'll be removing their identifying information, and then ranking them. Once we've ranked them, we'll cull the list down according to the things that most catch our eye, work to ensure that there's a mix of content, themes, and styles, etc. We'll be unlikely to accept multiple submissions from the same person on the same Your Whispering Muse series, however -- we want to try out lots of new authors, and the deadlines will be short. We'll probably contract a few extra pieces in case something delays or stops one of the individual entries, and we'll keep all submissions on file for the next series or other projects.

Yea, I didnt expect you to pick multiple submissions from the same person. I also just wanna say again, as I'm pretty sure I said this when it was announce, that this a really bitchen thing you guys are doing. I wish more game lines did it.

Being shown his posts on this very forum is why I bought the Eclipse Phase books in the first place - so I support this motion wholeheartedly.

That's sounds good for me
That's sounds good for me this little supplement. Great work. The team have read Ian McDonald novel : Luna ? That's just fantastic to see what a muse be like.
