A Few Morph Variants
I may, possibly, have been reading the Morph Recognition Guide while on my latest Eclipse Phase kick. Particularly, I may have been reading the section on custom; knockoff and otherwise variant morphs. A few ideas have been floating around in my braincase since then, and I thought it might be appropriate to inflict them on a wider audience. To address this possibility, I present my colleague Johnny Olympus, of Johnny Olympus & Forks’ Morph Brokerage and Resleeving. Many thanks of introduction, friendly make recommender. At here Johnny Olympus we make to discerning customers best of unique morph opportunity available. Many bargains, much value! All provide of genuine authenticate and certify for legals. Replicae Unlimited: Series One Ultimatum Reforge Perfected for Mars is living, much discounts on limited production make! The first, and not coincidentally last, in-house design by Replicae Unlimited during their brief foray away from their niece as in-system manufacturing of low-end morphs from Skinthetic, the Ultimatum Reforge is a flawed knockoff of the Remade with some interesting variations that could have made it great. Intended as a high-end Martian model, the Ultimatum Reforge avoids the inhuman look of the archetype, landing straight in the expected range of features that more conservative and unadventurous customers expect. The phenotypes for the initial run were pan-Asian blends, averaged out for marketability, with the intent of adding more variety in the second series. Martian acclimatization was also included as standard, and the company even pre-installed Medichines to sweeten the package. Unfortunately, Replicae Unlimited went too far, too fast. Pushing the limit for accelerated growth compounded the issues, but it was corner-cutting at the design stage that doomed the project. Not even the extensive pre-sale surgical genetic patches and ongoing treatments could fully mitigate a neural net that never properly meshed with the altered physiology, and another grand ambition wound up on the firesale of history to mitigate losses. Still, if you’re looking for a step above the average Mars-adapted Exalt at an affordable price, and if you can overlook the limitations, this might be the body for you! Base Model: Remade Implants: Add Low Pressure Tolerance, Medichines and Temperature Tolerance (Improved Cold) Aptitude Maximum: 40 (COG, INT, SAV, WIL) 30 (COO, REF, SOM) Durability: 35 Wound Threshold: 7 Advantages: +10 COG, +5 INT, +5 SAV, +10 SOM, +5 WIL Disadvantages: Remove Uncanny Valley. Add Frail (Level 1) (included above), Planned Obsolescence and Unfit (Level 2) (included above) CP Cost: 35 Credit Cost: Expensive (25,499 at Johnny Olympus & Forks’ Morph Brokerage and Resleeving) Bayer’s of Qurain: Titan Very special for collectors’ interests. Ignoring name. Is no problem. Great strongs, much beauty. Despite the unfortunate name, the Titan is an exceptional morph. One of the earliest Bruiser variants, Bayer’s of Qurain took a brute and created art. Gorgeous giants designed on Arab and North African lines, initial sales were solid even in the unrest preceding the fall. Neither the designers nor the executives responsible stayed lucky for long, however, and the company died with its home town. Unfortunately, saddled with an unfortunate name and with Bayer’s headquarters now smack bang in the TQZ, the designers’ work is doomed to obscurity. To compound matters, and making a resurrection under a new name problematic, the GRM installed on the Titan has so far resisted reverse-engineering; and of course if the original design specs survived they are now less than accessable. Unusual and eye catching, the Titan is ideal for those looking to make a statement, and will truly dominate almost any room. Base Model: Bruiser Implants: Add Clean Metabolism, Enhanced Pheromones, Low Pressure Tolerance and Temperature Tolerance Advantages: +15 SOM (includes Hardened Skeleton bonus), +5 REF (+15 with Adrenal Boost), +5 SAV, +10 Intimidation Skill, Add Striking Looks (Level 1) Disadvantages: Remove Unattractive (Level 1) CP Cost: 80 Credit Cost: Expensive (75,999 at Johnny Olympus & Forks’ Morph Brokerage and Resleeving, while stocks last) Bayer’s of Qurain / Skinthetic: Rock-Jock Deluxe Old-times favourite with many in own’s family. The Morph that cemented Bayer’s reputation for high-end biomorph work, the Rock-Jock Deluxe builds on the common Alpiner baseline with impressive work on self-regenerative tissues and perhaps the least obtrusive of the early-model integrated bioweave. Initial models favoured Bayer’s standard Arab and North African range in looks, though more variety was added as the line matured, while the red-tanned skin tones were an early contributor to the now pase “Mars look”. After the Bayer’s untimely demise, Skinthetic was in a position to adopt the line, and continues small-batch production for those with the inclination and funds to avoid reliance on GSPs. A solid choice for those looking to make their own way in the wilderness, the Rock-Jock Deluxe is a trusted biomorph unlikely to go out of favour any time soon. Base Model: Martian Alpiner Implants: Add Bioweave Armor (Light) and Clean Metabolism Advantages: Add Rapid Healer Disadvantages: Remove Planned Obsolescence CP Cost: 45 Credit Cost: Expensive (29,999 at Johnny Olympus & Forks’ Morph Brokerage and Resleeving) Argyne Collective: Luminar Naga GL-2 Specials model from exciting new manufacturer. Many opportunity for early adopting. For all the Argyne Collective tout their Redneck roots and make gestures towards the Barsoomian cause in an attempt to mask it, the morph-crafters behind this Noctis-based synthmorph manufacturer are marketing strictly to high-end customers with an eye for the unusual. The Luminar Naga series is perhaps the shining example of this. Savant symthmorphs are still rare Sunward of Neptune, so hitting the ground running with an off-the-wall variant seems more than a little redundant. Still, that’s what Argyne have pulled off with the Luminar Naga. Replacing the played-out bipedal locomotion of the standard model with a slitheroid-derived system not being enough, they have also adopted a full synthetic mask with a fantasy twist. In particular, the GL-2 series is manufactured with a charcoal-skinned female upper body and iridescent black/green scales on the tail for a truly distinctive look. It’s not for the faint hearted, but the Luminar Naga provides an intriguing blend of cutting-edge out-system cognition enhancement and synthmorph utility, all wrapped up with an exotic skin that’s sure to make a statement. Base Model: Savant Implants: Add Snake mobility system and Synthetic Mask (this negates the Social Stigma (Clanking Masses) trait) Mobility System: Snake 4/16, Roller 8/32 Advantages: +10 COG, +5 COO, +5 INT, +5 SAV, +5 SOM CP Cost: 70 Credit Cost: Expensive (47,999 at Johnny Olympus & Forks’ Morph Brokerage and Resleeving) Honestly, Kev, I don’t know why I started with the damn voice. It’s not like anyone’s ever… erm… Make journey trip simulspace today! Our showroom these and many more, with full specification for browse and full finance available! Happy shopper!

Workaholic
Lucidania LLC: Workaholic Tired of your research staff shirking their duties for downtime... socializing, sleeping, ablutions? Try our new Workaholic Morph. Thanks to Circadian Regulation mod's sleep is a modest interruption to the work day, with Endocrine control distractions can be ignored, A clean metabolism keeps illness at bay and our neurotechs have found a way to encourage a solid work ethic in staff sleeved in our proprietary Morphs.
  • Base Model: Menton
  • Implants: Add Circadian Regulation, Clean Metabolism, Endocrine Control, Ghost Rider, Mnemonic Augmentation, Multi-Tasking
  • Traits:Modified Behaviour: Boosted Workaholic (Lvl 1)
  • Advantages: +10 COG +5 INT, +5 WIL, +5 to one other Attribute
  • CP Cost: 60 Credit Cost: Lease Agreements Only
It should be noted that I'm tired and the CP might be a bit off, and I couldn't do numbers in my head for Cost so just said they'd be a lease workforce anyway. Which gives me the idea they must have some kind of inbuilt spyware in them to record everything going on to their stacks for later retrieval and corporate espionage. A puppet sock might well fit in with this idea, with a puppeteer AI watching and recording everything.

Ultimate: Battleborn
Ultimates: Battleborn Prototype Ultimates released basic Remade template to be freely available to everyone in the solar system on the premise that it should replace splicer as transhuman baseline. Battleborn is to a Remade what Fury is to a splicer. Result of Ultimate's research program it is only available to Ultimates or their allies. Attempts to enhance their durability yielded a new type of tissue and cardiovascular reinforcement in effect allowing the morph to operate in high gravities and posess equivalent of heavy bioweave without the loss of touch sensibility. The whole morph is built with transhuman battlefield in mind. Therefore it has mental speed speed enhancement allowing it to bring tactics into the frantic melee. Unfortunately integration of MRDR into the adrenal glands and morph metabolism had some side effects like increased agressiveness and need for excessive physical activity. Ultimates believing that anyone using this morph should be strong-willed enough to combat these instincts considered it a feature. Base Model: [strong]Remade[/strong] Implants:
  • Adrenal Boost, MRDR gland, Reflex Boosters, Neurachem I, Mental Speed
  • Bioweave Armor (Heavy), High-G adaptation, Hardened Skeleton
  • Medichines, Nanophages, Respirocytes
Traits:
  • Uncanny Valley
  • Tough lvl 2
  • Choose a few: Modified Behaviour: Boosted Agression (Lvl 1), Major MRDR addiction, Fast Metabolism, MRDR drug exception, Neurochemical Imbalance (MRDR effects), Proprietary Tech (Ultimates)
Durability: 65 (75) Armor: 3/4 (Bioweave) Wound Threshold: 13 (15) Speed: +2(+3) Initiative: +5(+7) (Add to initiative from Ego, all morph augs included) Advantages: +10 COG, +10 (+20) REF, +5 SAV, +20 (+30) SOM, +5 to two other aptitudes of the player’s choice, can ignore up to 3 wounds CP Cost: 70 (AMCS by Squire Ned) Credit Cost: 80 kcred (AMCS), 80+ U-rep, at GM discretion *Values in parentheses () are used when the morph is on Adrenal MRDR boost. ** You can create this morph simply tacking on the augs on a Remade. It will have -10 DUR. Roleplaying Prototype Traits:
Spoiler: Highlight to view
Depending on if the morph the player gets is an early prototype, the Traits other than Uncanny Valley can be evoked often (maybe add a Lemon Trait) and with great effect. Make the player roll WILLx3 often to control the experimental nature of the morph. Go crazy with interpretation of literal MRDR battle drug being part of the brain chemistry. Check out the Hyperbright for inspiration
Roleplaying Final Version:
Spoiler: Highlight to view
Remove the Modified Behaviour, MRDR addiction and Neurochemical Imbalance, maybe Fast Metabolism and Proprietary Tech. Add Endocrine Control. In this version the morph has no downsides (except availability) and is really ridiculous fighter, give it out if you want to spoil your players. Or give it to your Ultimate baddies
This is the Ultimate fighter morph worth the name. Designed to rip the Reapers in half. Customize with sensory implants and other goodies. If you want a TPK throw them at your players. With Purifiers inside. EDIT: Feedback strongly appreciated. EDIT: Added Cost EDIT: Exchanged 10 base DUR for Tough lvl 2 Trait

My feedback is that this is cool as fuck and I can't believe I've never seen some iteration of this idea before. I will definitely be porting this into my campaign.

Oh, and it might be
Oh, and it might be worthwhile to swap the heavy bioweave for light, since the former doesn't stack with worn armor. Some level of the Tough trait and/or the Pain Tolerance trait probably wouldn't be out of line here either.

Heavy Bioweave stacks with
Heavy Bioweave stacks with worn armor. In this morph it is interpreted with high-g augment as a wholesale tissue reinforcement. Not only the surface of the morph skin is stronger but the whole volume. I guess you could say that this morph is basic Remade with all the augments and Tough lvl2. It has basic durability of 50 instead of 40. Pain tolerance is pretty useless, because it already can ignore 3 wounds which is a maximum. Because morph just finished development there is almost as many prototypes as finished versions. So feel free to add wierdness like Lemon or other negative traits that you think would be appropriate for a morph in development.

Whoops, you're right on heavy
Whoops, you're right on heavy bioweave, for some reason I was thinking of carapace armor.

It's worth noting that
It's worth noting that carapace armor does stack with vehicle armor, which matters because a carapace'd up morph is a good battlesuit pilot.

That's interesting, I didn't
That's interesting, I didn't know that; do you have a page ref, by any chance? Edit: Never mind, upon re-reading the entry I see how that's clear now.

Shinobi
Shinobi Sometimes, you don't just want to sleeve a ghost; you want to be a goddamn cyberninja. A recent release on the market from Eishundo Hyperdynamics, the shinobi caters to a relatively niche audience but it can't be accused of not getting the job done. At this point lets make this
At this point lets make this thread about overpowered morphs. Btw is there any augment that boosts COORDINATION? It would be a great stat to improve in most of the combat morphs.

No augments that I know of
No augments that I know of boost COO, though quite a few base morphs get bonuses (in fact my two favorites, Ghost and Scurrier, get +10. The only other +10, Surya, while good on paper may run into issues like "too big for the door") Maybe I'll make an actual morph loosely based on my usual build. For when nothing less than a wall of bullets will do.

I noticed some errors. I hope
I noticed some errors. I hope you guys don't mind me pointing them out. CordialUltimate2 - Modified behavior is a mental trait, not a morph trait. Also the Lemon trait is only for synthmorphs. Kojak - Cyberlimb Plus can't be masked.

Technically, there is one: the Phlo drug gland.
