intra-swarmanoid communication question
A typical swarmanoid morph normally communicates among its own body using radio signals. I noticed, in Transhuman page 214, there are different communication modalities offers, specifically laser, microwave, and ultrasonic. I thought I'd be smart, and buy my character (AGI sleeved into a swarm morph) the laser link: the idea is that, if radio is jammed, he can just switch on the lasers. However, reading the text, I just realized maybe the canonical rules intended this to be an *exclusive* or decision: you either install intra-morph radio comm on your swarm XOR laser comms. But not both! Is there an argument for not allowing both to be installed? Both from a game balance point, and from a logically-consistent in-universe standpoint? Or, am I just mis-reading the text, and, if I install laser link, I still also have the default radio link available?

oh, and one other related question (my GM might have already posted this here, but not sure): Would a swarm morph be physically able to speak? Using audio, I mean, not transducing over the mesh. I imagine most synths have a speaker built in, good for, say, if the mesh crashes. However, with swarm morphs, since it's just a bunch of bug-sized bots, I honestly am not sure. A single bug, of course, could not produce enough volume to be heard, but what if they all spoke in unison: would the summation of their audio be audible?

You cant really radio jam a swarminiod network. You can hack, eventually, but you cant really jam it. Or I dont think the strength required to jam would be funcitonally different then hitting the swarm with an emp. And swarms are pretty dead physically. They cant do anything physically really, nor can they talk. Each gnat is smaller then your pinky finger nail. Even if there was a speaker in there, they couldnt be strong enough to be heard. At most you would be able to hear a whine or buzzy from the different speakers, resonating.
