Question about the habitat Bright
In the book Rimward, in "Game Information" on immigrating to Bright (p. 196) it says that characters with COG 40 or higher get special incentives to stay. However, I was under the impression that the aptitude maximum for anything is 40, given even Fetches and Promethean forks are capped there. Is this just an oversight or have I missed some rules somewhere?

Its probably a typo.
Its probably a typo. I know of nothing that will allow a character to exceed an aptitude of 40.

FWIW, my copy says 30.

Different Versions?
My copy of Rimward indicates it's version 1.0 (July 2012) on the last page of the table of contents, and says the minimum score for immigration to Bright is 30, with special incentives for scores of 40 or higher. The version sold on Amazon right now has a date of October 3 2012. I can't clean up the preview on DriveThuRPG version enough to see its number. The Rimward Errata thread http://eclipsephase.com/rimward-errata-thread (#8) has this point mentioned on 7/26/2012, so maybe it was caught before final printing, and updated for folks who do that sort of thing on DriveThruRPG. @kojak what version do you have?

Mine says 30, and it's the First printing of the dead tree version. I'm guessing the OP has a non-updated PDF version.

Did they also change the minimum score to immigrate? It'd be odd if the min was 30, and there were special incentives for those with COG 30 or higher, as then everyone eligible would be so incentivized.

"In rule terms, individuals
"In rule terms, individuals must have a current COG score of 30 to be eligible for citizenship on Bright (p.71) or even to stay there for more than two standard days. All visitors are test upon arrival, but the test only requires a brief brain scan lasting several minutes. Individuals displaying scores of 40 or higher will usually be offered various incentives like priority access to goods and facilities to make Bright their home for a few months. " I think I misunderstood the question partially. 30 to stay, 40 for special goodies.
