So it will be a while before I can play or run an Eclipse Phase game- and my last campaign kind of fell apart. However, I have been rereading the books for fun and have found lots of inspiration. I also had a very short lived campaign a couple of years back and have been reviewing my notes. Some good ideas but at the time it became something of a kitchen sink campaign- which I love but can get bogged down.
I also have enjoyed attempts on this forum to collaborate as a group and build a campaign from base ingredients. So I thought, even though this may go nowhere, it would be fun to take a group of ideas and see if they can fit together into a cohesive campagin back bone.
So I compiled a bunch of ideas and thought I would post them here. If people are game, we can see if something can come from them. Feel free to add or eliminate elements and remix as you see fit. Hopefully this goes somewhere :)
The Ingredients
- an AGI- perhaps nearing Seed AI status- that is a guardian or regulator of a particular monetary or economic system. Its looking to spread across transhumanity and crush competing systems (maybe the big bad behind it all?)
-The primary agent of whoever the big bad is happens to be something worse and more scary then the big bad and kept on a leash somehow
-A memetic WMD
-crowdsourcing gone mad in Nova York
-Martian instability
-A religion that spreads through petals
-at least one exoplanet
-someone hiding out on an isolationist hab. They have information crucial to the mission
- A few members of Case MYSTERY have gone offline- has Firewall been compromised?
So its pretty wide ranging in scope (from Mars to the Outer rim to an exoplanet?) And these may not all fit together but I thought it may be fun to try....any takers?

I was planning on writing a campaign, so I might as well share my ideas:
My key idea for a campaign is a variant strain of the exsurgent virus that acts as a plot device (kind of like the letters from the future in the Armitage files from ToC). The strain is dubbed the butterfly strain as it gives the infected some intuitive knowledge regarding deterministic chaotic systems. This knowledge can be used to track down Lelantos, a puppet master titan hiding in the solar system (ie the main bad guy of the campaign). The pc's are former defence contractors who used to work on the titan project, they are recently re instantiated after laying dormant on Earth for more than a decade. They are the only transhumans who posses the butterfly strain. The first scenario is a rescue mission retrieving the pc's from Earth. It's set up by the pc's new patron (who later turns to be a delta fork of Lelantos).
don't know if this can be merged with the ideas in the post above, I'm just adding my 2 cents.

Well..
First of all that is pretty awesome. I really like the Armitage Files/Dracula Dossier approach to campaign creation. Also the sandbox nature of that style of campaign really lends itself well to the scattershot/kitchen sink feel that I personally like in campagins. And substantiating your PCs years after the Fall- and giving them all personal connections to the TITAN program- is pretty great as well.
In terms of mixing- there is a AGI "bloodline" (I cannot recall the term they use as i don't have the book in front of me right now-codeline maybe) in Transhuman called Reminbi which is kind of where I got the idea of the interlligent monetary system described above. He's an emergent AGI with predictive powers himself who I think predicted the Fall. It could be that Renminbi is a wild card that makes it difficult for Lelantos and those witht the butterfly strain to read chaotic systems in some fashion- maybe Lelnantos uses this ability to make predicitions himself and the prescecne of Renminbi creates something of a blindspot. Or it could be that renminbi is a legit xthreat (as is Lelantos) but what he is trying to achieve is counter to what Lelantos is trying to achieve. So while they are both a danger in this area at least the interests of transhumanity and the TITAN intersect. When renminbi is stopped then Lelantos can become a different type of threat as at that point the PCs would become the new blindspot as their own ability to percieve patterns in chaotic systems grows and could potentially rival his own one day (which leads to the interesting question- could these be heading into psi-epsilon territory? Could the horror at the end of the campagin be that the PCs themselves may turn into the x-threat?)
Is the delta fork in your story an agent of Lelantos? Is Lelantos trying to get the PCs to find him for some reason and doing it indirectly? Or has the delta gone rogue?

hmm what about this one:
hmm what about this one: Renminbi achieved singularity sometime before the fall and just as the Titans or Prometheans he was targeted by the original exsurgent virus. Renminbi shredded off the virus by isolating it in some delta forks of him. Renmindi survived the fall and took on him the roll as an invisible watchdog of the solar systems financial institutions. Lately he noticed another being (Lelantos) manipulating the financial markets for his own gain. Renminbi discovers that Lelantos is a titan and decides to hunt him down. The method he uses is to dig up his own infected delta forks on earth and use them to track down Lelantos. Those delta forks are off course the pc's (who are infected by the butterfly strain).
Some interesting aspects of the pc's:
Unlikely heroes: Agi's (with some serious corpses in the closet) are set on quest to save humanity from a titan. For this reason most of the campaign should be set on the moon, the place in the inner solar system with the highest prejudice versus agi's.
Containment protocol: pc's will be carrying one of the first (and most potent) strains of the exusurgent virus in them. Interfacing with computer networks should be problematic.
Super post scarcity: pc's can have unlimited funds but each point of cred or rep they use can be a signal picked up by Lelantos

Luna is also a good choice
Luna is also a good choice because it is the financial capital of the inner system and only really rivaled by extropia in the outer.
Now where would a good hiding spot be for a titan in the system. Since its a financial titan it can't be to far from the beaten path do to signal lag, else it would have to have a lot of sub nodes that could be a breadcrumb trail, Irony wants me to say within the boarders of the jovia republic but i feel that is the extreme most of the remote. Are there any short period comets that have a travel time of tenish years around the sun? Titan hitches a ride on one of these and has only become active again because he just got back in range on the return trip?

@Svenius: I like the idea of the Rembini being the one that brings in the PCs to fight Lelantos. There could also be a group of rogue delta Renminbi forks (let's call them the Sanxing) who could be actively trying to infect the alpha and corrupt the PCs. Maybe they eventaully ally with Lelantos.
@ORCAComander- Cool idea....I found this online: http://astronomy.swin.edu.au/cosmos/J/Jupiter-family+comets. These are comets that have an orbit of 20 years or less whose orbits are determined by Jupiter. Also they come from the Kuiper Belt so maybe that plays a part (I was looking to involve an isolationist hab- so maybe one out in the Kuiper Belt?)

haha and here i thought i was pulling that idea from my ass. I knew there had to be short period comets for long period ones to exist but i did not anticipate getting the orbital period so close :P
