This is basically it, "in the middle." Remember that after the Commonwealth found the Gate, they explored it, and open-sourced its secrets... But then they went and sold it to a traditional hypercorp - well, rather, they founded one and let it loose to control the gate - probably to avert a war they projected was going to come if they tried to maintain ownership of the gate as a nationalized asset of the Titanian Commonwealth. And then, of course, other gates were found...

Pretty poorly. I'd bet that "nationalize the Pandora Gate" comes up fairly regularly on Titan, as a fairly popular move, too. They should feel quite cheated - they made their gate a neutral corporate asset, open for all to use, as a generous open-hand measure, and nobody else has reciprocated. A lot of Titanians probably want their damn gate back.
