Keeping Track of In Universe Time
So we all know about how combat rounds translate into game time but I have seldom seen a game system that depends so much n game system out of combat. So I ask, As gm's how do you find it best to keep track of in universe time outside of combat? How much do you track this, what do you look for to tell your players how much time has passed? The Devotees is pretty decent because it gives you a table of transit times but still makes you improvise the rest. Although it gives you a large time frame to work with. Continuity is fairly tight on its time table and i have not see anything arbitrary to advance time besides the odd skill check

Pick a start date and time. I like 12:00 PM, January 1, 2143 A.D., aka 10 AF. Then keep track of downtime and such.

I typically don't worry about it too much. The hard part comes when people are doing different things, which take greatly different amount of time (designing a blueprint while others go into combat for example), which can really take someone out of the game for a while. Generally I update the players every so often, or when an important or long task action ends.
