I am currently translating Ep into Polish (YAY :D :D :D) and now I just translated the part about Schizo.
This got me thinking. What exactly are benefits of Schizo? It basically makes you cut your own skin, it gives you paranoid schizophrenia and it makes you get some stress points... what are the benefits, then?

Pretty much none. That's like asking what the benefits of crack cocaine are. I'm sure you could ICly find people who talk about it making them 'sharp' or how it makes them 'feel alive' (talking about Schizo here, not crack), but really, it's got no quantifiable benefit.

I mean, there's no real benefit... for the user.
This is not the same as "no benefit" for the purchaser.

"It sounded like fun at the
"It sounded like fun at the time" turning into "I don't feel right without it." As the others have mentioned, there's no real benefit to it, unless you've taken it and gotten addicted to it, wherein the benefit is that it makes you feel less like the shitstain withdrawl makes you feel like.
That said, in an era of nominally disposable bodies, it might have the benefit of sensory extremism to those so inclined, fringe XP production...uh, well, torture, etc. It's probably seen as about as tasteful as the deliberate suicide XPs, but really, that's no different than our modern "hookers and blow" culture.

I Don't Like The Drugs But The Drugs Like Me
The benefit is that you can inject it into someone you don't like.

Yeah, that was the thought I had with the torture. And that would be a serious dick move.
Though then again, I've looked up audios that supposedly simulate audio schitzophrenia for the experience/curiosity, so that same trend could go a lot farther with a drug like that.

Here's one of the ones I found, which at least seems to be made with input from actual sufferers from the auditory-affecting version of the illness. https://youtu.be/0vvU-Ajwbok I make no claims that it's exactly like it, of course...but if it's anything like this in reality, I'm content with not knowing from first hand experience.
Interestingly and on the other hand, I've found a few sources suggesting that culture has a lot to do with the nature of at least the audio hallucinatory version of schizophrenia. One study is hardly conclusive, but I'd be very interested to see more research on the subject. http://www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2014/07/when-hearing-voices-is...
